HCD.6:4.5 - Provide Feedback and Correction Opportunities
Link feedback to the criterion or action difference. State what remains correct, what must change, why it matters to the result, and what the learner should inspect or try next. A score or praise can summarize but cannot replace actionable information.
Let the learner use the feedback to correct the affected action, on the same case when that makes the correction learnable. For a subsequent attempt intended to distinguish recognition or adaptation from remembering the answer, change enough of the case to expose that difference. Recheck only the affected claims unless the new response gives reason to reopen others. If feedback revealed a different limiting target, return to HCD.5 or HCD.3 rather than adding repetitions under the old explanation.
Practice feedback and later assessment serve different uses. HCD.9 records the feedback and next attempt as practice history. HCD.11 decides what a condition-qualified performance attempt can support, including the effect of help and contamination.
