APP-HCD-05 - Explanation, peer judgement and personal return across different settings
A paid distributed adult programme
Twelve adults from different organisations need to learn to judge whether a recommendation follows from its evidence and to carry that distinction into their own project. This constructed additional block uses already qualified subject criteria and entrants able to read the short cases. It is separate from APP-HCD-04’s diagnostic routes. The complete connection matters: a good group comment is insufficient if its reviewer cannot justify it or its recipient cannot use it.
HCD.20 compares the intended contribution with supported individual work. Here peer judgement is itself a learning target, so receiving a ready-made expert or AI comment does not supply the whole required action. HCD.21 forms three compatible groups from actual availability, preparation and permission, then establishes the contact. A closed project supplies a cleared fragment or a constructed counterpart retaining the evidence-to-conclusion relation; if that relation cannot be disclosed, the group does not claim to review the closed project.
Each learner prepares a bounded question, ground and conditional conclusion. HCD.27:5.1 develops the actual Tuesday-to-Friday transfers and provider windows. The assessor first checks the fragments; the facilitator selects three useful contrasting pairs while preserving their conditions. Reading the selected pair, each participant makes a criterion-bearing judgement before the common exchange. HCD.6.1 makes a missed observation-versus-cause distinction discernible, using the shortest preparation that serves that gap.
During the thirty-minute group episode, four three-minute contributions expose each participant’s own judgement and grounds. Six minutes let peers question and compare those grounds, six permit subject help, and the final six give each learner ninety seconds to explain which part of their own judgement they will retain or revise and why. The selected pair supplies common material; it does not restrict feedback and revision to those two original authors. These are constructed allocations for short judgements, not a universal discussion format. HCD.23 supplies explanatory reconstruction and HCD.24 connects each reviewer’s judgement to their response as the author of that judgement. Where the original case authors are present, they can also use the feedback to revise the underlying recommendation. If a group edits one person’s answer without comparing grounds, HCD.26 restores the missing action or returns the unavailable subject help. A cue that is merely acknowledged has not restored it.
The three groups have confirmed starts at 18:00, 18:08 and 18:16. HCD.27:5.1 shows every stage on the same clock: after twelve minutes of individual judgements and six of comparison, the one mentor visits at 18:18–18:24, 18:26–18:32 and 18:34–18:40. Each final personal return follows that visit; the groups finish at 18:30, 18:38 and 18:46. The mentor is booked 18:16–18:46, including transitions. Each learner still spends thirty active minutes, while the cohort’s elapsed span increases to forty-six minutes. These starts require actual participant availability; a common 18:30 finish needs another support arrangement.
Each person then applies the relation to an own or permitted substitute case with a changed condition. HCD.25 asks what corresponds and what would defeat the move. For example, two reports derived from one observation cannot supply two independent observations. The receiving task’s qualified criterion still decides whether another observation is needed. HCD.12 distinguishes an unfamiliar transfer test from learning the distinction during this very exercise; feedback-assisted correction remains visible.
The finite planning account allocates three fixed provider-hours to case preparation, criterion qualification and provider readiness. Recurring provider allocation is 370 minutes: Tuesday checking and reserve 120, selection 20, contact and coordination 20, Wednesday mentoring 30, Thursday personal-return checking and reserve 120, and Friday correction checking and reserve 60. Thus one cohort allocates 550 minutes, or nine hours ten minutes including fixed preparation. The same person may perform several contributions only if the stated windows remain compatible; reserved time counts even if unused.
Each learner’s core allowance is 95 active minutes: twenty for the initial fragment, fifteen for returned feedback and preparing the comparative judgement, thirty for exchange, fifteen for the changed personal application and fifteen for correction. Twelve learners therefore require nineteen active hours. This estimate assumes the stated preparation and short readable cases. A prerequisite branch, translation or restored missed conversation adds its actual learner and provider burden. The finite reserves cover bounded clarification, not unlimited additional teaching. Demand beyond them returns a changed window, another competent provider or a narrower promise before the result is claimed.
HCD.28 receives this entire conditional construction. Fees alone establish neither availability nor effectiveness. Actual contact, use of the feedback, first and helped responses, and provider demand determine what can be retained or revised for another cohort. A causal comparison of programme variants would additionally need a suitable unit of assignment, treatment of interacting learners and attrition, actual support exposure and a qualified research design; this planning account supplies none of those observations.
Internal team learning without a course purchase
An employer instead releases four technicians to work around one safe training instrument. The learning actions are prediction, observation, questioning and manipulation under the supplied technical criterion. HCD.20:5.2 derives capacity from the exclusive operating turns and useful concurrent observer actions. HCD.21 can retain the team because shared access and context matter; outside diversity is not automatically worth losing the permitted material.
HCD.22 preserves each required action, and HCD.23 lets an observer explain a discrepancy before the operator changes the setting. HCD.26 distinguishes quiet observation from inaccessible information or a missed distinction. Where colleagues judge and revise a diagnostic explanation, HCD.24 supplies that bounded exchange. A final plant decision still belongs to its authorised technical owner. Employer time, equipment access and qualified help are actual supply contributions even though no course was bought.
The team can use HCD.25 with a permitted outside case to test a recurring relation, while HCD.27 preserves internal data and organises a later entry for someone who missed an operating turn. Watching the recording restores information but not that person’s manipulation. If the real target is the team’s coordinated production capability, OCE and the relevant work method govern that result; individual evidence alone does not establish it.
An author whose audience is not yet known
An author prepares instruction for interpreting an indicator under specified assumptions. HCD.28 first obtains the subject Method or returns its absence. It then compares a supported individual route with a route using peer explanation or judgement. When readable contrasts and accessible qualified feedback supply the entire target, the individual route is a complete candidate: it needs neither fabricated partners nor an invented common calendar.
If a later version promises the learner’s ability to judge another person’s reasoning or respond to a challenge, the relevant HCD.23/.24 action must be added with actual people or another arrangement that preserves that human contribution. An AI-generated answer does not by itself supply it. HCD.27 adds shared occasions only where the new dependency requires them. A known learner subsequently enters HCD.2 with their actual starting evidence, work and access. The product’s general audience assumptions cannot replace that personal comparison.
These cases demonstrate constructed choices and connections. Their different permissions, actions, windows and burdens change the arrangement; they do not establish observed learning or service operation.
