MDPE.15:2 - Problem

Five substitutions make local practice development unreliable.

  1. Choice-for-change substitution. A decision or proposal is reported as though the subject already changed.
  2. Plan-for-Work substitution. A schedule, checklist, prompt, score annotation, or call plan is reported as performed Work.
  3. Artifact-for-practice substitution. A new description, recording, model, or tool version is reported as a changed Method, capability, performance, or practice.
  4. Observation-for-effect substitution. A liked rehearsal, higher technical reading, or later event is attributed to the change without the needed relation and comparison.
  5. Local-for-cultural substitution. One project intervention is reported as transmission, recognition, selection, retention, spread, or attractor movement in a practitioner population.

These substitutions make failed attempts disappear, hide moved burdens, and prevent later practitioners from knowing what can be reused.
