MDPE.20:3.6 - Choose the supported response and obtain observations when selected
During ongoing Work, use A.15.7 to select the next action. Use C.11 for a bounded choice from available options, including a choice already supported by existing evidence or expert judgement. Further observation is a separate option only when its marginal contribution warrants total cost, delay and displaced Work, and a capable performer, access, authority, resources and window make it feasible. If selected, a capable Agent performs the observation through its direct Method. Use the obtained result to revise the trajectories and development decision; no observation is invented when that Work is unavailable or not selected.
Possible next Work includes observing one discriminating event; running a bounded trial under changed context, representation, teaching, network, event, or selection conditions; preparing for two trajectories because both remain consequential; keeping alternatives available through MDPE.16; selecting a reversible response through MDPE.14; changing a support arrangement through MDPE.22; or stopping because no remaining distinction changes current Work.
For an intervention, name the changed subject, intended receiving use, authorized Agent, affected Agents and Systems, expected local result, possible cultural consequences, and observation that could defeat the relied-on causal claim. Project selection does not establish later cultural selection. Do not call a proposed probe a test result or a future observation obtained.
