MDPE.14 - Choose a Response to Conflicting Music-or-Dance Results

Type: DPF pattern body

Primary working result: a bounded practice-conflict decision. It names two or more Music-or-Dance results that cannot all be improved by the same local change, states the relation that makes the conflict relevant, compares materially different responses, and returns one of four outcomes: a selected change with a representative trial, a deliberately preserved tension, different variants for different uses, or the next observation needed before choosing. The result is a decision, not performed reconfiguration Work or proof of improvement.

MDPE.14:0 - Use This When

Use this pattern when a local change candidate improves, or is expected to improve, one Music-or-Dance result while another result is observed to worsen, appears at risk, or disappears from the current decision. A stated part–whole, scale-order, Work-overlap, slower-constraint, or representation relation must make this more than an ordinary list of criteria.

Typical situations include:

  • a larger social-Dance figure is easier for spectators to see but exceeds the space, partner information, or effort limits of a crowded floor;
  • a musician improves one difficult gesture while phrase shape, ensemble coordination, sound, or attention to the whole performance deteriorates;
  • a robot’s visible social gesture becomes easier to read while timing, mechanical noise, or musical interaction crosses an accepted limit;
  • a competition arrangement makes performances easier to compare while training, improvisation, participation, or cultural continuity is put at risk;
  • a short-video carrier increases discovery while attribution, teaching use, partner response, or long-form composition remains unsupported; or
  • a school makes entry easier by simplifying material but removes distinctions needed for later style development.

The practical question is:

Which results conflict in this bounded situation, what relation connects their selected structures, and which response protects the important results without hiding the burden moved elsewhere?

The first gain is a bounded decision, with a representative trial when a change is selected.

Use C.30.ILC and C.32.MLAO without this pattern when the general cross-scope residual and candidate frame are enough. Use a direct choreographic, partnering, instrumental, rehearsal, production, event, judging, platform, safety, or engineering Method without MDPE.14 when it already returns the same Music-or-Dance conflict decision, vetoes, trial, and observation plan. Use MDPE.14 when the decision still depends on Music-or-Dance-specific relations, candidate families, criteria, or receiving uses.

Do not use this pattern when:

  • the relation is only first–then order in one Method or Work unfolding—use the direct Method or A.22.CGUS;
  • several criteria concern one subject but no part–whole, scale, overlap, slower-constraint, or representation relation changes the decision—use ordinary comparison;
  • the missing result is a venue, school, platform, archive, access, or recurring-Work relation—use MDPE.22;
  • the performing whole has not yet been configured—use MDPE.3;
  • the current task is to preserve several live development alternatives—use MDPE.16; or
  • a local change has already been chosen and only its performance and representative trial remain—use MDPE.15 or the applicable direct Method.

A receiving observation or changed Method variant from MDPE.17 reopens an existing MDPE.14 decision only when it changes the same conflict, candidate, comparison, residual, moved burden, or representative test. When none of those changes, the current decision remains usable.

MDPE.14:0.1 - Five Conflict Branches

The five branches below identify different relations.

BranchRelation that must be statedTypical Music-or-Dance use
cross-holonA named part–whole relation connects a movement, phrase, performer, instrument, event part, Method part, or Work part to a named whole.A phrase becomes more spectacular while partner coordination or the whole performance deteriorates.
cross-scaleA declared spatial, temporal, organizational, population, or other scale order connects the compared subjects.A change helps one performance grain while a larger or slower scale result crosses a limit.
simultaneous WorkNamed Work occurrences or Work parts overlap in one bounded interval or situation. Overlap establishes neither parthood nor scale.Phrase Work, partner sensing, floorcraft, audience-facing performance, and event participation compete for attention or space.
slower constraintA teaching, repertoire, judging, platform, event, or institutional arrangement changes more slowly and constrains current Work through a named relation.A judging system or recommender changes which variants performers prepare or present.
representation useA representation preserves some distinctions, hides others, and is used in a named decision.A camera view, score, sensor, metric, or model favours visible or measurable features over partner, listener, or performer use.

One case can use several branches, but each claimed relation needs its own support. Do not infer a cross-scale relation from a vertical drawing, longer duration, page position, coarse-graining operation, or the fact that two activities occur together.

Keep three additional distinctions visible:

  • Method unfolding describes possible first–then or branching Work under a Method; it is not a simultaneous holonic architecture.
  • Coarse-graining suppresses distinctions in a description for a use; it does not create a world-side holon or part–whole relation.
  • Observed difference and causal contribution are different claims. A before/after or side-by-side difference can inform a reversible decision. Claim that a change caused the difference only through C.28 when that causal use matters.

Use Agent for dancers, musicians, teachers, organizers, judges, robots, AI Systems, or acting collectives when their agency is relevant and supported. Use System for bodies, instruments, floors, software, venues, platforms, records, and other participants when agency is not current.

MDPE.14:1 - Problem

During one performance or practice situation, several results matter together. A dancer regulates effort and balance while producing movement units, figures, phrases, partner interaction, a performance, and participation in a social event. A musician regulates an effector while shaping notes, rhythm, phrase, ensemble interaction, sound, and the whole performance. Teaching, repertoire, judging, event, and platform arrangements can constrain what is prepared and performed.

These descriptions concern different kinds of subjects: Work parts, Systems in a performing whole, slower arrangements, and representations. The recurring engineering difficulty is that project participants optimize an easy local proxy and lose another result that remains important.

Examples of the failure include:

  • larger movement is called better Dance while partner information, floorcraft, safety, or participation falls;
  • timing accuracy is called better Music while expressive timing, sound, or ensemble response disappears;
  • higher judging reliability is called better style while one criterion or one cultural arrangement dominates;
  • platform attention is called cultural success while attribution, learning, enactment, or continuation remains unknown; and
  • technical feasibility is called successful practice while performer burden, consent, access, and event operation fail.

The cost can be high: performers are injured, partners stop participating, instruments or robots are pushed beyond reliable configurations, schools teach for the wrong use, competitions select brittle variants, and later development follows evidence that no longer represents the intended practice.

MDPE.14:2 - Forces

ForceTension
Local observability and whole-practice fitA small feature is easier to measure and change; the wider Work and practice carry other results.
Virtuosity and sustainable capabilityTechnical challenge can expand expression while exceeding bodies, effectors, attention, rehearsal, or replacement capacity.
Coordination and local freedomPartner or ensemble coordination needs shared information; improvisation and expression need room to vary.
Participation and precisionWider entry can increase enactment while simplified distinctions can limit later mastery or style integrity.
Visibility and embodied useCamera, stage, judge, or platform legibility can select features unlike those needed by partners, musicians, or participants.
Several structures and one decisionSeveral architecture views can matter, yet the practitioner still needs one bounded next move.
Immediate observation and slower consequenceOne occurrence or metric changes quickly; capability, repertoire, selection, and continuation can change later.
Improvement and moved burdenA candidate can reduce one conflict while moving cost, risk, attention, exclusion, maintenance, or evidence burden elsewhere.

MDPE.14:3 - Solution

Bound one Music-or-Dance situation and select only relation branches whose named participants and supported or obtaining relations establish a conflict that changes the bounded decision. For a conflict across declared scopes, reuse the general FPF residual frame. For every admitted branch, use the domain-specific relations and vetoes, compare materially different responses, and return a bounded decision. A capable Agent performs any selected change Work; that Work enacts the applicable direct Method, and MDPE.12 qualifies later observations.

The following subsections describe one useful sequence of work under this Method. Project Work can overlap or revisit them.

MDPE.14:3.1 - Bound the situation and decision

Name:

  • the representative Music-or-Dance Work occurrence or proposed trial;
  • the performing Agents and wider performing whole;
  • the local result someone wants to improve;
  • the other result that must remain acceptable;
  • the affected Agents and Systems;
  • the place, interval, material, configuration, and evidence horizon; and
  • the deciding Agent, current authority, and later use of the decision.

For a possible-future case, do not write as if the performance or conflict already occurred. State the proposed relations and the observation that could support or defeat them.

A usable entry is:

During dense-floor social partner-Dance Work, increasing the amplitude and speed of a turn–steps–counter-turn phrase is expected to improve distant-camera visibility while partner-readable weight transfer, floorcraft, rhythmic clarity, and bounded effort may cross their accepted limits.

MDPE.14:3.2 - Select and support the conflict branch

For every branch used, state the two subjects and the relation between them.

QuestionRequired answer
Which Method or Work part changed?Name the larger Method or Work whole and the actual part relation, or do not call it a part.
Which Work obtains together?Name the overlapping Work occurrences, interval, participating Agents and Systems, and results that must coexist.
Which scale order matters?Name the scale variable and ordering relation. If none is stated, do not call the conflict cross-scale.
Which slower arrangement constrains current Work?Name the judging, teaching, platform, repertoire, event, or institutional relation and the current Work it constrains.
Which representation changes the decision?Name the represented subject, preserved and hidden distinctions, receiving use, and the decision that consumes it.

Also state whether the basis is an observed difference, a design hypothesis, an association, or a causal contribution. The selected structural relation does not by itself carry a causal effect.

If none of these relations changes the decision, stop using this pattern and use ordinary comparison.

MDPE.14:3.3 - Use the residual frame when the conflict crosses declared scopes

Use C.30.ILC when the conflict is an architecture residual across named holon levels or declared scopes of the described whole or whole family, and a selected structure carries or relates those scopes. After that residual is recovered, use C.32.MLAO if residual-reducing architecture candidates are needed. In that branch:

  • recover the residual and the affected holon or scope references;
  • name selected structures and architecture characteristics;
  • make several residual-reducing candidates visible;
  • state what each candidate preserves, loses, and moves elsewhere;
  • state the evolution window and source-return condition; and
  • name the applicable pattern for comparison, choice, enactment, observation, or causal use.

For a simultaneous-Work or representation-use conflict without that cross-scope relation, keep the participants, selected structures, conflict and limits established in §§3.1–3.2 and continue with the domain responses below. Overlap or a different representation alone supplies no scope relation for the residual frame.

In either branch, use the Music-and-Dance details that change action:

  • movement, phrase, musical, partner, ensemble, performer–instrument, event, judging, platform, and representation relations;
  • bodily, equipment, acoustic, floor, consent, attribution, permission, and access vetoes;
  • candidate families such as changing local articulation, partner or ensemble interfaces, the performing whole, judging or publication arrangements, or separate variants for separate uses;
  • criteria such as partner information, musical timing and sound, expressive control, floorcraft, injury risk, participation, recognition, attribution, teaching use, and retained variation; and
  • representative Music-or-Dance trials and observations that can support or defeat the decision.

If these domain details change no action or stop, use the applicable FPF pattern and direct domain Method.

MDPE.14:3.4 - Generate responses that fail differently

Generate alternatives that change different relations or distribute burdens differently. For example:

  • change the local movement, articulation, fingering, actuation, phrase, or control relation;
  • change the interface between partners, ensemble members, robot and instrument, performer and cue, or performer and venue;
  • change the performing whole or the wider event arrangement rather than the local technique;
  • change judging, publication, attribution, teaching, or platform relations;
  • separate uses that need different variants instead of forcing one compromise;
  • add capability, feedback, sensing, rehearsal, moderation, or evidence where the conflict is hidden;
  • change the representation or metric so a protected result becomes visible; or
  • preserve the current tension deliberately within stated limits.

Include a no-change alternative when the tension is productive or every feasible intervention creates a worse burden. Include a small probe when current evidence cannot distinguish the alternatives.

For every alternative, state the changed subject and relation, expected gain, protected result, new burden, realization conditions, and observation that could defeat it. A new drawing or name is not a new alternative unless it changes Work or a decision.

MDPE.14:3.5 - Compare with domain criteria and vetoes

Use A.19.CPM for explicit comparison and C.11 for local choice. Keep the Music-and-Dance criteria visible, for example:

  • performer effort, attention, injury risk, expressive control, and sustainable capability;
  • partner or ensemble information, consent, coordination, and room for variation;
  • timing, dynamics, sound, phrase, musical response, and interaction;
  • audience, judge, teacher, partner, listener, or sensor recognition;
  • participation, access, attribution, refusal, and exclusion;
  • teaching, rehearsal, event, equipment, software, and maintenance burden;
  • retained alternatives and repertoire diversity; and
  • later transmission, continuation, and reversibility.

Preserve incomparable results, veto conditions, uncertainty, and dissent. A weighted score cannot compensate for a breached safety, consent, permission, or equipment limit. A candidate that moves burden to an unpaid teacher, organizer, maintainer, partner, or source community must show that burden.

MDPE.14:3.6 - Return one bounded response

The deciding Agent returns one of four useful results:

ResultMeaning
selected change and trialSelect a change and representative trial, with capability, permission, resources, protected conditions, and rollback visible.
deliberately preserved tensionKeep the current arrangement because the tension is productive or every feasible change is worse; state operating limits and a recheck condition.
split useMaintain different variants or arrangements for different receiving conditions rather than forcing one compromise.
next discriminating observationName one observation that can distinguish candidates, including subject, conditions, expected differences, and stop.

The result is not permission, performed Work, or an observed improvement. Establish authority and permission separately. A capable Agent performs and tests the selected change through Work that enacts the applicable direct Music, Dance, engineering, teaching, event, safety, judging, platform, or production Method.

A compact return can use this form:

bounded situation and deciding Agent:
conflicting Music-or-Dance results:
branch or branches and supported relations:
evidence status — observed difference | hypothesis | association | causal contribution:
cross-scope residual and candidate-frame references, when that branch applies:
Music-or-Dance relations, criteria, vetoes, and candidate families added:
comparison result and local-choice result:
decision — selected change | preserved tension | split use | next observation:
direct Method and representative trial, if selected:
protected results, moved burdens, and rollback:
observation plan and smallest reopen condition:

MDPE.14:3.7 - Use later observations without inflating the claim

After a capable Agent performs the selected change through Work that enacts the direct Method, use MDPE.12 or the applicable observation Method to compare the local and protected results under representative Work. Record moved burden and changed selection conditions separately.

A later observation revises this decision only when it changes the same conflict, candidate, comparison, residual, moved burden, or test. Use C.28 only when the decision depends on claiming that the change caused the later difference. A local observation establishes neither style improvement nor cultural selection, retention, or progress.

MDPE.14:4 - Worked Cases

MDPE.14:4.1 - Dense-floor social Dance uses cross-holon and simultaneous-Work branches

This constructed teaching application concerns an Urban Kiz pair. It is informed by current direct swing-floor guidance, but it does not report an observed Urban Kiz population. The World Swing Dance Council guidance says to adapt slot size, choreography, and footwork to available space and shifting dancers, attend to the partner, and place partner well-being above display. The source supports the floorcraft and partner-use relations; it does not supply this project’s observations or a universal partner-Dance Method.

The pair considers enlarging and accelerating a turn–steps–counter-turn phrase. The phrase is a part of the performance Work, while rhythmic interpretation, partner sensing, floorcraft, audience-facing display, and party participation obtain together. This is a cross-holon and simultaneous-Work case; no scale claim is needed.

The pair compares three alternatives:

  • reduce amplitude and travel while preserving phrase order;
  • redistribute rotation and add earlier partner-readable weight-transfer cues; and
  • keep the larger phrase for staged or low-density use and a compact variant for the social floor.

In the constructed trial, the second alternative preserves rhythmic order and improves partner prediction but remains too large near the floor edge. The pair therefore chooses split use: the compact variant for dense floors and the larger variant for staged or low-density Work. Safety and partner refusal remain vetoes; distant-camera visibility is a non-compensating loss. Reopen when floor density, partners, music, or receiving use changes.

MDPE.14:4.2 - Robotic Music uses simultaneous Work and performing-whole relations

In the cited Shimon work, the robot can perform Music autonomously enough to be treated as the performing Agent for the named trial. The human research team is the practice-developing Agent that selects and changes the configuration. These contributions remain different.

Visible head gesture can improve communicative legibility while timing, mechanical noise, or musical plausibility crosses an accepted limit near tempo transitions. Robot–instrument configuration, gesture-control relations, musical Work, and observer Work matter together; no universal scale stack follows.

Candidate trials include reducing gesture amplitude near difficult transitions, separating communicative motion from actuation timing, or accepting bounded timing deviation under a musical criterion that values legibility. The team chooses only after the robot edition, control architecture, safety, and evidence are stated. Results from another configuration do not rank these candidates without a supported correspondence.

MDPE.14:4.3 - Breaking judging returns a probe, not a promise that more criteria solve the conflict

This source-supported case concerns competition and sportification. The 2024 WDSF-oriented performance model relates breaking to technique, vocabulary, originality, execution, musicality, opponent-relative strategy, music that is not known in advance, fatigue, injury, audience, and judging. It supplies possible criteria and relations, not evidence that one scoring architecture is adequate.

The 2025 Paris-results study found good reliability for originality and poor reliability for the other four categories. The result defeats the simple premise that more explicit categories or more technical observables necessarily improve agreement. A 2019–2023 field inquiry also reports that hip-hop actors did not fully adhere to Olympic breaking and that organizations addressed cultural-preservation concerns. That evidence adds practitioner, institutionalization, format, and cultural-continuation relations; it does not establish one causal effect of Olympic judging on every breaking practice.

For a constructed local event, the project compares three responses: develop judges for each criterion and check their agreement while retaining the competition format; separate ranked competition from non-ranked improvisational practice so one result does not govern both uses; or keep the existing ranking for the competition while limiting what it can say about improvisational value and cultural continuation. It selects a discriminating probe before choosing a lasting arrangement: compare reliability by criterion together with practitioner observations of what the trial format makes harder to present. This choice proposes the probe; it supplies no new observation or evidence that adding criteria solves the conflict. MDPE.13 governs the recognition-and-selection arrangement; a capable Agent performs any selected change through Work that enacts the applicable competition Method.

MDPE.14:4.4 - Short-video discovery, attribution, and teaching require different relations

This teaching application uses two current source results. Taylor’s TikTok study separates the recommendation feed, sound feature, and captions and shows how each can enable or obscure attribution. Blanchet and colleagues’ two movement-learning studies show that segmentation and emoji labels improve learning only inside a well-designed lesson structure; visual aids can also overload attention. Neither result shows that short video by itself causes a style change.

A school that wants both discovery and transferable partner-Dance learning therefore does not compare “short video” with “long video” as one scalar choice. It separates:

  • a discovery carrier with source and dance-credit information;
  • a structured teaching carrier with part learning, fading guidance, and an uncued whole-practice test;
  • partner-responsive Work that no front-facing representation can establish; and
  • platform visibility, attribution, learning, and social-practice observations.

The school chooses split use and a representative trial. Reopen when attribution fails, learners cannot perform the whole without cues, partner response does not transfer, or the platform changes the relevant affordance. The sources support the selected relation structure and candidate set. The school decision is a constructed application; actual use would require the corresponding Work and observations.

MDPE.14:4.5 - Training before performance is not a lower simultaneous level

A dancer can first develop strength and later perform; a musician can first rehearse fingering and later play. Earlier capability-development Work is not therefore a simultaneous performance part or lower level. During performance, obtained capability can constrain possible Work. Use Human Capability Development for the training programme. Use MDPE.14 only when a present capability, body, Method, Work, or slower arrangement creates one of the supported conflict branches in the bounded situation.

MDPE.14:5 - Recognition and Assurance

Recognize a complete first result when the practitioner can answer:

  1. Which Music-or-Dance results conflict in the bounded situation?
  2. Which conflict branch applies, and what relation supports it?
  3. If the conflict crosses declared scopes, which residual and candidate-frame work is reused from C.30.ILC and C.32.MLAO? Otherwise, which named participants, structures and local conflict guide the response?
  4. Which Music-or-Dance relations, candidate families, criteria, vetoes, and trials change the decision?
  5. What comparison and choice were made, or which observation is still needed?
  6. When change Work is selected, which capable Agent will perform it and which direct Method will it enact? For every result, what would reopen the decision?

Assure the result by checking that:

  • cross-scale is used only with a stated scale order;
  • part–whole, Work overlap, slower constraint, representation use, and Method unfolding remain different;
  • actual and possible-future Work are not mixed;
  • observed difference, association, design hypothesis, and causal contribution are not collapsed;
  • local and protected results both have evidence or explicit uncertainty;
  • safety, consent, authority, permission, access, attribution, and equipment limits are not traded away by a score;
  • alternatives differ by changed relation or failure mode;
  • moved burden and lost alternatives are visible;
  • the deciding Agent is not confused with the performing Agent or wider performing whole;
  • results from direct comparison, choice, enactment, observation, and causal Methods remain separate; and
  • a local decision is not reported as cultural selection, retention, progress, or a new whole.

MDPE.14:6 - Common Failures and Repairs

FailureRepair
“These are the levels of Dance or Music.”Name the subjects and relations; keep Method, Work, System, representation, capability, and cultural views distinct.
“They overlap, so one is part of or above the other.”State overlap, parthood, and scale independently.
“First train, then perform, so training is the lower level.”Keep capability-development Work and later performance separate; inspect obtained capability during performance only when it changes the conflict.
“The metric improved, so the practice improved.”Observe the protected result and moved burdens through the applicable Method.
“The camera shows the whole conflict.”State the represented subject, preserved and hidden distinctions, and receiving use.
“The judging categories are explicit, so agreement and cultural fit will improve.”Test reliability by criterion and keep practitioner, format, improvisation, and cultural-continuity relations visible.
“The platform spread the clip, so it transmitted the Dance.”Separate discovery, attribution, lesson structure, receiving enactment, transfer, and later continuation.
“We generated options, so the problem is solved.”Use the applicable comparison and choice Methods or return one discriminating observation.
“The best weighted score wins.”Preserve vetoes, incomparability, uncertainty, and non-compensable harms.
“The trial worked, so the culture improved.”Keep local observation separate from later recognition, selection, transmission, and retention.

MDPE.14:7 - Consequences

Positive consequences:

  • local optimization is checked against the wider performance and practice relations that matter now;
  • conflicts supported by named relations and strong enough to change the bounded decision stay visible across distinct holonic positions, scales, simultaneous Work, slower constraints, and representation uses;
  • practitioners receive a bounded decision;
  • split-use variants can preserve valuable differences when one compromise would damage both uses;
  • representation and metric losses become engineering inputs; and
  • artistic, bodily, technical, event, platform, and cultural concerns can be coordinated without absorbing their direct Methods.

Costs and limits:

  • relation recovery can show that the case needs only ordinary comparison;
  • representative trials may require performers, partners, venues, instruments, robots, audiences, judges, or teachers;
  • later observations can overturn the current decision;
  • some tensions should remain rather than be solved; and
  • a bounded project cannot control distributed cultural evolution.

MDPE.14:8 - Rationale and Source Use

MDPE.14:8.1 - What current FPF already supplies

C.30.ILC recovers a cross-scope or interlevel residual. C.32.MLAO frames residual-reducing candidates with selected structures, preserved and lost structure, new burdens, an evolution window, and a named pattern for the next question. C.32.MWA keeps several non-isomorphic architecture views separate. A.19.CPM owns explicit comparison, C.11 local choice, and C.28 any causal-use claim.

With those results, a practitioner still needs the Music-and-Dance relation branches, bodily and artistic vetoes, partner and ensemble criteria, judging and platform alternatives, split-use choices, representative trials, and domain observations supplied by MDPE.14.

MDPE.14:8.2 - Domain sources and the decisions they change

Source or maintained resultAction-changing use hereLimit and smallest reopen
World Swing Dance Council, “Social Etiquette for Swing Dancers”Direct practitioner guidance supports adapting slot width, choreography, and footwork to available floor space and shifting dancers, attending to the partner, and putting partner well-being above display. This makes floorcraft, partner information, safety, and split use load-bearing in the social-Dance branch.Updated content is attributed to 2019 and concerns swing. It does not establish Urban Kiz prevalence, one universal floorcraft Method, or the constructed trial observations. Reopen when current direct social-Dance guidance or a result from Work using such a Method changes the candidate set or vetoes.
Llurda-Almuzara and Garcia-Falgueras, “From theory to practice: modeling performance in breaking”, 2024Adds opponent-relative strategy, music not known in advance, audience and judging, fatigue and injury, and several performance criteria to the competition branch. It blocks reduction to one technical score.This is a proposed performance model aligned with WDSF rules, not proof of adequate judging or cultural effects. Reopen when direct competition evidence changes the criteria or relation set.
Sato, “Reliability of judging in Olympic breaking at the 2024 Paris games”, 2025Observed reliability differs by criterion: originality was good while technique, vocabulary, execution, and musicality were poor. This rejects the premise that adding explicit categories alone solves agreement.One Olympic event, one scoring system, and official result data do not establish validity, causal effects on training, or transfer to other Dance forms. Reopen with another criterion-level result or evidence that changes the decision.
Lessard and Demain, “Vers un ‘Breaking fédéral et olympique’…”, 2024A 2019–2023 field inquiry reports partial non-adherence to Olympic breaking and preservation concerns. This adds practitioner, institutionalization, format, and cultural-continuity relations to the judging decision.The French field case does not represent every breaking population or establish that one arrangement caused a cultural change. Reopen when a direct population or event result changes the response.
Taylor, “Algorithms, affordances and the ambiguity of credit on TikTok”, 2025Separates recommendation feed, sound, and caption affordances and shows how informal Dance-credit practices can succeed or fail. This makes attribution and platform relations separate from discovery.One digital ethnography and challenge case do not establish the origin of every Dance, the causal effect of recommendation, or learning transfer. Reopen when a platform or creator result changes attribution choices.
Blanchet et al., “Enhancing the Educational Potential of Online Movement Videos”, 2025Two user studies show that segmentation and emoji labels help only inside a well-designed lesson; visual aids can overload attention. This separates discovery carrier, lesson structure, guided part practice, and uncued whole-practice testing.TikTok challenges and short motor-learning studies do not establish partner-Dance transfer, durable retention, cultural continuation, or one universal lesson design. Reopen with representative transfer or retention evidence.
Timing examples in the Dance profile and the local Balboa casesDistinguishes continuous carriers, discrete articulation, timing centres, and representation choices. It helps recognize conflicts without merging Music and Dance Methods.It supplies comparison and Method-design input, not one universal timing ontology or shared exercise Method.
Shimon project, mechatronic expressivity study, and social-gesture studySupplies configuration-bound actuation, gesture, timing, attention, noise, and musical-plausibility concerns for robotic Music trials.Separate configurations and studies are not one comparable evidence set and do not establish cultural continuation or human-held development authority for the robot.

The social-Dance case is a constructed teaching application informed by direct guidance. The breaking cases use reported model, reliability, and field-inquiry results but stop before unsupported causal conclusions. The short-video case uses current platform and learning results to change the selected relation structure and candidate set; its school decision remains a constructed application until performed Work and observations obtain.

Refresh a source when it changes a relation branch, candidate, veto, observation, or decision. A newer paper, official rule, popular style, or platform metric does not displace representative project evidence by status.
