NSTD.1:2 - Problem
Narrative purpose is useful because a narrative rendering is made for someone and for some use. But ordinary purpose language is often too broad: “make it inspiring”, “tell the story”, “explain the architecture”, “make learners care”. Those phrases do not say which structures must be preserved, which distinctions may be coarsened, and which downstream use is blocked.
