OCE.10:4.1 - Recover one consequential participation gap
Choose a missed or distorted contribution that changes the organization’s result. Recover the request, participant, receiving work, situation and timing. Ask for an actual example rather than a general attitude.
With the affected participant, reconstruct what was understood, attempted, available and expected to happen next. Ask what the person stood to lose, protect or accomplish by acting differently. Compare the account with permitted task evidence, including an occasion when the contribution did work. A manager’s explanation is one source, not the default truth.
Keep work-relevant evidence and personal information separate. Obtain the appropriate permission and protection for interviews, observation or shared examples. Stop that inquiry branch when its lawful or professional basis is absent.
