OCE.12:4.5 - Arrange continuation without dependence on one initiator
Agree the time allocation and the help needed for the next contribution. As needed, arrange peer help or coaching, provide working examples and name someone to contact when a difficulty exceeds the participant’s capability or authority. Record what the next participant needs to perform the work.
Observe a subsequent episode. When independence from the initiator is the claim, let another capable participant perform the contribution without the initiator doing it for them. Retain the help still needed. Rotate the contribution only when the next person is capable and willing, the agreed protections are in place, and any necessary authorization has been obtained.
According to the problem observed, ask the learning provider to revisit the person’s target, the people arranging workplace support to repair it, the person responsible for the affected tool to redesign it, or a Method specialist to qualify or revise the Method.
