OCE-PRACTICE-CONTINUATION - Keep useful practice when names, examples and opportunities differ
Situation: Practitioners use different labels for organization mapping; some recover useful relations, some fill charts, and others have no permitted case on which to act.
Question: What is continuing, what needs repair, and what would another practitioner need to produce a usable result?
First useful result or blocker: An account of observed use, a supported repair to its example or conditions for further use, or a specific method, capability, opportunity or access question.
Stop or return: Retain adequate observed practice. Changed terminology, attendance and lack of opportunity do not by themselves establish either learning or loss of the method’s useful action.
Recover the action behind the label. In the practitioner application, eight practitioners work across three organizations. Four observed cases recover actual work, evidence supply and receiving decisions under different titles; two show charts without the needed relation; two lack a suitable permitted case. These are continued use, a gap to examine and unobserved use respectively.
Repair the contribution that failed. Comparing a usable case with the shared example reveals that its recognition question rewards completed department boxes. Within the group’s permission, a qualified facilitator and willing practitioners critique the cases, retain useful variants and replace the deficient example with a source-linked case and counterexample. Later feedback asks which supplied contribution and receiving decision the practitioner recovered.
Use another method only for its distinct question. If the actual OCE method already contains the needed move, repairing its example need not create a variant. OCE.15 - Choose, Develop, or Refresh Organization-Change Methods enters when the reusable method or available repertoire lacks an answer; it returns an account of available methods and remaining gaps, or an OCE candidate requiring the applicable Method Engineering qualification. Use qualified HCD or learning help when distinguishing a human difficulty from conditions of use would change the action. Use OCE.10 for participation in the target organization, which is a different question from continuation of OCE practice.
Keep the later observation within its reach. In the fictional follow-up, one practitioner recovers the contribution and authority in another case; another cannot obtain permitted evidence access. Retain the observed use and return the access gap to its owner. This does not establish the intervention’s causal effect or lasting retention across the profession. A later changed case or lost support reopens the particular conclusion it affects.
