RHY.10:10 - Architectural Rationale
Rhythmic coordination relates actions through a reference and reciprocal or one-way use of information. It can therefore fail despite a shared vocabulary or matching nominal tempo. The method keeps the intended relationship, the information used to sustain it and the actual adjustment separate long enough to choose a repair.
Correction is constrained by the same constituent capabilities that support the passage. A performer who cannot prepare the required action cannot recover merely by identifying the right beat. Developing that capability and altering a cue arrangement are different useful responses.
