RHY.13:4.3 - Separate retained performance, support and new instruction

For human capability, use HCD.12 or HCD.13 to preserve the question’s conditions. Observe the attempt needed by the claim before giving a demonstration that would supply the answer. If guidance is necessary, provide it and qualify the result as supported or newly learned performance.

For a retention question, keep the reference task and support comparable to the earlier use. For a support question, compare with the named support condition. A delayed attempt with withdrawn assistance can show that the combined later demand is not yet met; by itself it cannot decide between loss over time and dependence on that assistance.

The order of attempts matters. Restoring a cue after a failure can help localize the next intervention, but the earlier attempt may have provided practice. Do not label a later successful retry an untouched first attempt. Use further contrasts only if they could change the action.

A robot’s successful replay after restoring a saved configuration shows operation with that configuration. A transfer claim requires the relevant changed input or condition; a learned-policy improvement claim needs the corresponding training and evaluation basis. Keep hardware, controller, calibration and support available in the claimed performing whole.
