Gordon Dang’s Balboa roadmap uses practice contrasts among pulse, foot pickup and posture. Adopt the bounded contrast as a useful practitioner move; adapt it here to whichever rhythmic contribution the activity needs. The roadmap supplies teaching proposals, not evidence that one diagnostic sequence works for every performer.
MDPE.8 supplies a broader choice of music-or-dance subject and development question. Reuse that result when available. This method adds the rhythm-specific comparisons that choose between timing, grouping, articulation, receiving cues and their joint performance.
London and colleagues’ comparison of P-center procedures warrants retaining the observing task when interpreting timing. A quick rehearsal contrast is cheaper than a controlled study and can select a trial; it supports a correspondingly narrower conclusion. The diagnostic combination above is a methodological synthesis, not a validated universal screening test.
