RHY.1:4.2 - Form the rhythm-specific alternatives
Consider only alternatives that would change the correction. Useful distinctions include:
- the pace drifts, or the pace is stable but the performer is displaced relative to a reference;
- the needed events or their order are wrong, or those events occur in the required order but their grouping or accent cues a different entrance;
- the physical action itself is late, or it occurs on time but becomes usable as a cue to the receiving participant later;
- a continuous movement is lost while individual articulations remain correctly placed;
- the component action works alone, or it fails when combined with a partner, another rhythmic layer or a required bodily contribution.
These are recurring comparisons, not a complete classification. Use the one suggested by the actual difficulty. Causes can combine: correcting a sequence may leave its grouping unresolved, and a physical delay may coexist with delayed recognition. If the case gives no reason to choose between explanations, retain the uncertainty.
