| Force | Practical tension |
| Different events can belong to one action | Contact, force change and received information need not have one timestamp. |
| Observations have their own delays | A camera, microphone, controller or responding participant contributes to the measured relation. |
| A correction can change the cue | Altering force or sound shape may change perceived timing as well as physical timing. |
| Some timing variation is intended | Useful coordination can require a stable displacement rather than coincidence. |
