RHY.5:4.5 - Retain one representation or a useful combination
Use the simplest adequate convention for the operation. When two operations need different information, keep complementary representations with shared references: an ordered symbolic pattern for transformation, for example, and a recording for its articulation and timing.
Explain how to move between them. RHY.6 constructs the rhythmic correspondence; NOT.6 supplies the general method for keeping complementary views consistent. Additional views are useful only when someone consumes their additional information.
Stop when the user can recover the required result or when the missing convention, perception or performance capability is located. Reopen the choice if the intended operation changes.
