RHY.7:10 - Architectural Rationale
Rhythmic comparison needs both mathematical constructions and practice-specific interpretation. The same onset pattern can impose different demands after its allocation to limbs or mechanisms changes. Conversely, two different patterns can coincide under a deliberately coarse mathematical measure.
A comparison of selected properties can be reused for different choices. A teacher may prioritize a clear reference while a performer prioritizes articulation. When a choice depends on an unknown response, RHY.14 obtains that result; C.11 then uses the comparison with the relevant preferences and constraints.
