• The compared alternatives and receiving decision are recoverable.
• The selected properties distinguish the rhythmic alternatives in a way that can change that decision.
• Tempo, phase, grouping and normalization are retained or deliberately set aside according to the question.
• Each numerical value has a procedure and a meaning; incompatible properties are not silently combined.
• Structural calculation, observed response and performance capability remain different claims.
• A trade-off or consequential unknown is returned honestly rather than forced into a scalar ranking.
• Further inquiry is selected only when its possible result is useful for the current work.
