RHY.Preface:2 - Problem - The useful relation disappears between descriptions and actions
A person can count a figure and place the feet on the count while the partner still cannot use its timing. A syllable string can preserve attacks while losing sustain and rest. A mathematically clear variant may require a movement the performer cannot yet execute. A successful assisted attempt may cease to work when the assistance disappears.
These difficulties occur at different connections. A representation must preserve the relation needed by its user. A performing arrangement must make the required actions and cues available together. Practice must develop the relevant contribution and restore it to the intended whole. An observation must distinguish the alternatives which matter to the next decision. The language supplies separate methods for these operations so that one failure need not restart all the others.
A surviving description also leaves a cultural question: who can obtain and use the way of working after the original performer or teacher is unavailable? The framework connects its rhythmic results to existing methods for transmission and continuation.
