RHY.Preface:5.3 - More appearances do not yet explain a practice’s future

A dance group is choosing whether to replace a familiar rhythmic variation with one appearing in more recent videos. Through MDPE.20 it bounds the question: what should this group’s next teaching programme retain? RHY.2/.7 distinguish the variants by the relation used in the figure, not merely their shared style label. The group already has an adequate demonstration of each.

Suppose its available observations show that the new variation is convenient in a stationary passage, while the familiar one supplies a readable transition into travel. Recent videos concentrate on stationary passages. Increased appearances are therefore compatible both with changed opportunities for performance and with a shift in what videos select. They do not establish a general superiority or a future attractor.

RHY.8/.9 make both variants available in the relevant arrangement. The group retains each for the passage where it has a demonstrated use and teaches the difference. This decision does not require first resolving the population mechanism. If a later preservation decision depends on whether practitioners are losing the familiar method, MDPE.20 selects a useful observation of access and receiving performance; a count of visible clips would not answer that different question.
