SOM.1:3 - Forces
The model needs enough bodily detail to choose a useful change, but more detail than the performer can distinguish cannot guide regulation. A local change must remain connected to the other actions needed at the same time. An outside observer can supply information the performer lacks; the performer’s account supplies information the observer cannot infer from appearance alone. An attempt should distinguish plausible explanations without requiring a complete physiological theory.
