SOM.1:2 - Problem
An external instruction, an anatomical explanation and the performer’s experience answer different questions. “Keep the line continuous” identifies a result. “Relax your hand” proposes a change but may leave its location, amount and effect unclear. Naming a muscle does not show that the performer can distinguish or regulate the needed change.
The correction can also target the wrong cause. A broken line might reflect pen control, movement, contact conditions or the pen and paper. Treating every failed result as a bodily deficit sends the learner into unnecessary practice.
