SYSE.21:6 - Bias Annotation

Watch for these five recurring interpretation biases:

Recurring biasLikely driftRepair
official-source biasA standard, certification, public programme, or declared conformance is treated as enacted current practice.Recover representative Work in the named population and period.
publication and teaching biasAcademic attention, curricula, press, or tool promotion is treated as project use or practical worth.Keep visibility, teaching, recognition, enactment, selection, and engineering consequence as separate claims.
lifecycle and maturity biasA stage diagram or maturity ladder becomes the natural cultural direction.Recover the Methods, Work structures, variants, guards, and consequences before comparing arrangements.
software-transfer biasSoftware evidence sets the cadence and authority of physical engineering.Transfer only the supported contribution and preserve the receiving profile’s physical and specialist constraints.
measurement maximalismThe project waits for a field-wide study it cannot afford.Use proportionate evidence with explicit population, period, basis, uncertainty, and decision limit.
