Source and roleContribution used hereBoundary of adoption
Michael Levin, “Ingressing Minds: Causal, Non-Physical Patterns In-Form Natural, Synthetic, and Hybrid Embodiments” (2026), Philosophies 11(5), 161, §§3–7. ArticleMotivates exploration beyond assigned function, sensitivity to preparation and observation scale, alternative influence and recovery-sensitive inquiry. The non-physical causal interpretation is the author’s proposal, not a premise of this Method. Source examples do not establish the performance of a new application.
Chris Fields and Michael Levin, “Cognitive Offloading Is a Cognitive Universal” (2026), v1, §§2–5. PreprintMotivates operation elimination, probing environmental support through changed demands, reciprocal effects and retained environmental contributions. The practical questions are used without relying on the preprint’s universal proof. Physical or informational dependence alone does not establish that an environment models its performer.
C.28.CM and C.16.MR/IR/RMConstruct causal accounts, response relations, resolving-power limits and informative changes.Their detailed domain-supported operations remain prerequisites, not capabilities supplied by this pattern’s title.
C.32/P2S, C.38, C.40.CD, E.23.CDI and C.36.RPSupply architecture, comparable ways, reciprocal problem development, capability development and continuing availability.Their connection is conditioned by the receiving use; they are not a compulsory sequential pipeline.

How should an unfamiliar response become a useful, repeatable arrangement? The selected line couples application-relative inquiry to construction of the whole arrangement and a receiver’s reproduction. A serious alternative is to qualify a response through causal or measurement Methods and leave application and transfer as separate expert work. That alternative is sufficient and cheaper when the receiving question is only the bounded response or throughput value, as the first branch in 5.2 shows. It is insufficient when a practitioner must decide what to build and preserve: 4.4–4.6 add operation elimination, allocation of environmental support, constituent conditions and the receiver’s missing contribution. The two articles motivate these questions; their wider theoretical claims are not evidence for the effectiveness of this composition. The added cost is developing and trying the connections needed by the actual use. A directly usable existing whole can remove that cost; an unavailable domain operation or a failed receiving attempt reopens the affected construction. The changed deadline in 5.1 and changed service conditions in 5.2 show those returns without discarding the earlier bounded result.

The worked cases are new analytical constructions. They are neither experiments from these articles nor replications. Claims about living systems, learning and human cooperation require their own current domain sources and safeguards.
