CB.2:5.1 - One repair question receives a usable return

Continue CB.1’s constructed repairer case. The organiser finds one owner of a shareable diagnostic question and two repairers with relevant experience who agree to help. The case involves a known professional method; its permitted reference material supplies the technical criteria. These starting facts are stipulated for the example.

The owner prepares the observations, the actions already taken and one unresolved choice. Customer identifiers and material without sharing permission are excluded. The two contributors see the question in advance and confirm that the requested help fits their competence and available time.

The proposed live exchange lasts twenty minutes: four minutes to establish the question, five for each contributor’s interpretation, and six for comparison and the next step. These are this case’s planning allowances, not a required meeting format. Preparation and closure are included separately:

Contributor B10 min20 min5 min35 min

The planned activity consumes 145 person-minutes. If a contributor has only twenty minutes including preparation, this arrangement does not fit that person’s availability. The organiser can obtain a narrower written contribution, change the window or choose a different capable person; the missing preparation is not made free by calling the event short.

During the exchange, the two proposed next steps turn out to assume different equipment configurations. The group identifies the missing configuration fact and an authorised way for the owner to obtain it. The result is a justified information-gathering next step, not a diagnosis reached by consensus.

The owner later reports that the new information made one of the proposed diagnostic routes inapplicable and allowed the known procedure to continue. Both helpers receive that response. A short conditional note can be retained with the owner’s agreement. It says which configuration changes the choice, so the account does not become an unconditional repair recipe.

For the next exchange, the owner offers to explain this configuration distinction to someone facing a similar question. That is a real contribution to consider. It does not establish that the owner can now judge every unusual fault or lead the whole group.
