CB.6:5.2 - A leaderboard rewards the wrong work
An online support group awards points for every answer. Several participants begin splitting replies and repeating material. A quiet contributor who prepares a reliable explanation receives little attention.
The organiser inspects actual cases with their recipients. Some quick replies are useful, but the count does not distinguish them from duplication. The group ends the per-message competition, explains the change and retains already-earned acknowledgements with their original limited meaning. Useful case returns and corrections can receive specific recognition without a new public ranking.
If a later formal award is wanted, it uses an account of a contribution and a suitable judgement. Popular nominations are considered alongside the receiving use and overlooked preparatory work.
