CB.6:5.3 - A mentor invitation cannot promise another person’s time
An organiser wants to thank a volunteer by offering a meeting with an experienced practitioner. Before announcing it, they learn what the volunteer would like to discuss and ask the practitioner whether they can help.
The practitioner can offer one bounded conversation but no continuing mentorship. The volunteer accepts that scope, receives preparation guidance and has a useful exchange. The organiser does not advertise a mentor programme from this single contribution.
In a changed case, the volunteer has no use for the introduction and prefers access to an existing reference resource. Recognition changes form without reducing their standing in the group.
