DTM.Preface:7 - External methods and publication use

These contributions remain external to DTM. The links return to the supplying public frameworks; search the stated PatternIDs within them. Use the currently available body that still supplies the described result, and revisit the combination if that relied-on content changes.

Supplying frameworkContent relied onReceiving use and condition
FPF Core — A.6.P.RI, C.36, C.36.RP, D.3/D.4Reference restoration, cultural continuation and recovery, conflicts of interests and levelsEstablish the participant, consequence and cultural relation before characterizing harm or recovery.
FPF Core — C.30.LCA, C.32.MWA, B.1.5.EWLayered control and simultaneous Method participationNeeded when the explanation or action depends on those relations; a contact network alone does not establish them.
Mathematical Modeling — MMP.7/.11/.16/.18/.19Observation model, state and law construction, distinguishing explanations, coupling and reduction, counterfactual comparisonSupplies the modeling operations. A subject-supported mechanism and the conditions of causal comparison must still be available.
Mathematical Thinking and Computational ThinkingConstruction, analysis and computational execution of the chosen modelUse the methods needed by the actual representation; a qualitative first result need not require a simulation.
Economic Reasoning and Coordination — ECO.8Coordination, authority and cost-bearing distinctionsRelevant to the compatibility and institutional cases; utility comparison does not establish permission to change an arrangement.
Operations Management — OPS.10/.19Usable capacity under the required service conditions; reconciliation with other operating workDTM.8’s review and saturation examples need these results when limited resources change the protective effect or displace other commitments.
Human Capability Development — HCD.6/.9Representative human practice, an attempted action, feedback and retryUse when acquisition requires more than exposure. The subject movement or work method supplies the technique; HCD.11/.13 address performance and retention or tool dependence when stronger capability claims are needed.

The subject practice must additionally supply the actual work method, observation, technical feasibility and limits. A model can identify a missing contribution; it cannot create a skill, sensor, adapter or permission by naming one.

DTM belongs in the Engineering DPF Suite because its first use supports inquiry and intervention in ongoing work. It relies on FPF and the Foundational Thinking methods; it does not change their general definitions. Its Parts group publication content rather than declaring three new disciplines.

This file contains the framework’s practical entry, whole-language account and nine pattern bodies. Cite a body by its DTM PatternID, retaining the edition when a changed body could affect the use.
