GOALS.5:4.5 - Run reviews that produce a useful continuation

Set the initial review rhythm from how quickly evidence can change action, the work’s horizon and the burden on participants. A periodic check-in can combine actual result, forecast, evidence basis, material obstacle and the next decision. Use event-triggered attention when a threatened dependency cannot wait. Existing working conversations can supply this result without another meeting.

Use GOALS.4 to distinguish a data problem, failed means, missing provision, worthwhile stretch and obsolete aim. Make the resulting decision effective at its owner. Leave an adequate continuation unchanged when no useful correction is called for. A reporting norm that punishes unwelcome forecasts should be addressed through the actual consequence arrangement in GOALS.8 and OCE; exhorting honesty while preserving the conflicting incentive leaves the obstacle in place.

Use CFR—conversations, feedback and recognition—to make help, learning and contributions visible. GOALS.8 develops the work, including privacy and personnel-use boundaries. Praise can identify a specific helpful contribution, such as recovering a late dependency or supplying another team’s missing expertise, alongside the headline output. The organizational result may depend on work absent from an individual’s own KR list.
