GOALS.6:4.3 - Bridge an adopted intention to suitable action

When the person accepts the goal and the difficulty is acting on a suitable intention, an implementation intention can connect a recognizable situation to an instrumental response: “When the review request arrives, I will identify the claim and its evidence before proposing a verdict.” Choose a cue that can be noticed and a response that can actually help. Rehearse or clarify the connection if needed. Revisit it when conditions require another response. Gollwitzer and Sheeran’s planning review supports this conditional human strategy; it does not supply missing competence, means or a reason to adopt the goal.

Use a simpler arrangement when adequate: a ready work space, an agreed protected interval, a direct reminder or an existing routine may answer the difficulty. The choice follows the observed problem and the person’s feasible conditions. Keep the next action small enough to be performed but large enough to make a useful contribution; a tiny activity that avoids the hard operation is no substitute for it.
