| Term | Meaning in this pattern |
| learning arrangement | The selected combination of individual and shared activity, people, materials, timing, help and observation for a bounded learning purpose. |
| cohort | The people admitted to one offer or period. Cohort size need not equal the size of any learning action. |
| task group | The participants who must interact for one bounded activity and result. Its size follows those actions and constraints. |
| peer circle | Relationships retained across episodes where continuity supplies a useful contribution. Membership can remain stable while task groups change. |
| individual contribution | The judgement, explanation, bodily action, coordination or other operation a particular learner must perform. |
| shared result | A work product or performance produced through several contributions. It may support learning but does not establish every member’s capability. |
| peak demand | The contributions needed in the same relevant time window, qualified by provider competence and access. |
