HCD.22:10 - Architectural Rationale
A shared task is a composition of learning actions, subject criteria and material dependencies. The common product and each learner’s contribution can change independently. Explicitly joining them allows the designer to support both without equating them.
A generic group exercise leaves these connections implicit. A fixed private–group–private ritual is easier to repeat but fits only some targets and preparation. The selected method derives the dependence and evidence from the purpose, permits modelling and active observation, and retains individual work wherever the promised contribution requires it.
