HCD.24:11 - SoTA-Echoing

Cambre, Klemmer and Kulkarni’s Juxtapeer, 2018 supplies aligned comparative review, overlapping pairs and feedback shown with its comparison context. Its reported feedback/reflection quality and ranking findings do not quantify learning gains or transfer. Sections 4.3–4.5 adapt that construction; calibration remains another useful option when learners need a qualified criterion before judging.

The CMU Feedback Partner study, 2025 found no added writing benefit from giving two reviews on top of its AI-feedback condition. This limits a general promise of automatic benefit. It does not perform or assess every possible reviewer-learning target. Compared with feedback provision alone, retain peer judgement when that operation is part of the intended capability, and observe it directly. Reconsider the exercise if it adds no needed learning contribution or if another supported arrangement serves the same target at lower full burden.
