HCD.24:4.5 - Complete the author’s side and resolve consequential disagreement

The author reconstructs the comment’s ground, then decides whether to adopt it, adapt its proposed repair, reject it with a reason or return an unresolved question. Require an actual revision when the accepted issue needs one. Preserve the earlier passage sufficiently to inspect what changed; a list of comments marked resolved cannot show the repair.

On disagreement, first align the task and criterion. Ask whether the reviewer inspected the right condition and whether the author supplied it. For a subject disagreement beyond the peers’ competence, send the narrow question and relevant evidence to the prepared provider. The provider can explain a missing principle or decide a protected matter without rewriting both learners’ entire work.

Return the resolution to both sides. The author changes or retains the work for that reason; the reviewer compares their original judgement with the decisive ground and makes the corrected judgement. Where the learning target includes later independent evaluation, use a fresh case after this helped correction. Formal release, grading or authorization remains with the designated assessor.
