HCD.26:4.5 - Make regulation available to participants

When participants need to regulate later work themselves, explain what the facilitator noticed and why the selected intervention fit. Let participants identify the next comparable occasion, propose the change and inspect its consequence. Reduce external prompting according to those observed contributions; a fixed fade-out date does not establish readiness.

A group can retain occasional external help. Independence is required only for the contribution and use that call for it. If the intended result is reliable work with a facilitator, establish that arrangement and its cost. If the intended result is an independently regulating team, take the team-capability question to the relevant OCE method and observe the team’s actual work under the claimed conditions.

Recognition rests on a consequential mismatch in the current attempt. Assurance for a beneficial intervention needs evidence of uptake and the resulting work, while a causal claim about the intervention needs an appropriate comparison. Stop once the current continuation is supported; do not add a reflection meeting solely to complete a sequence.
