| Reach can grow faster than relevance. | The circumstances that make a person an appropriate recipient. |
| A short message must compete for attention. | The contribution and any condition that would change its meaning. |
| Different places support different forms of participation. | The recipient’s expectations and the permitted form of contact. |
| A response can arrive before delivery capacity is available. | An attainable next step and an honest account of its timing. |
