MKT.6:4.2 - Construct worthwhile alternatives before selecting a promise
Use the recovered situation to describe a worthwhile problem and candidate contribution. DOCA.3 supplies that construction when the connection is missing. Start from the present activity and ask which change could make the desired result more attainable. Include changes to the customer’s work and other contributors, not only different packages of the provider’s existing product.
Build materially different directions when the choice requires them. For each, explain what would change from the present situation, how that change contributes to the receiving result, who must do what, which supports it needs and what remains outside. DOCA.4 develops a direction together with those supports and permits comparison on a common basis. Merely listing a basic, premium and enterprise price does not supply different ways of achieving the result.
Compare the directions against the important goals and constraints. Include leaving an adequate current arrangement in place. Identify the reason to prefer a direction, the conditions that could defeat it and any conflict it leaves unresolved. A feasible limited result can be valuable without reconciling every participant’s ambition. A proposal that depends on an unavailable contribution must become conditional, be narrowed, or return to its responsible practice for construction.
