OCE.12:2 - Problem

A person may be assigned a leadership title without anyone specifying the contribution they must make. One initiator may conduct every difficult conversation, leaving others dependent on their presence. A course may improve performance in an exercise without providing a safe workplace opportunity, feedback or help.

A mentor may encourage investigation while the manager assigns a full week of delivery and rewards only rapid closure. HR may offer development without knowing which future work can use it. A well-moderated discussion may collect everyone’s views yet leave the needed explanation or proposal unbuilt. In each case, performing the named activity leaves another contribution missing.
