OCE.17:2 - Problem

Practice can disappear while its carrier thrives. People attend events, repeat a vocabulary and fill the expected forms, but no longer obtain the result that made the practice useful. Conversely, a changed tool, title or teacher can hide a practice that remains effective for its bounded use.

A generic response – more communication, more training or tighter compliance – misses different causes. A newcomer may misunderstand the move, lack permitted case access, be rewarded for another result, have insufficient support, or correctly reject a Method whose conditions no longer fit. Treating all these cases as loss of skill burdens people and can spread the wrong practice.

The practitioner needs to discover the operative variant and the relation that can be changed, preserve competing explanations, and observe what happens in later work.
