OPS.20:4.2 - Select one value and one testable cultural predicate
Choose the relation that can change the current decision. State the value, participant meanings, participants, applicability condition, positive test, and discriminating negative or failed case before naming the relation as obtaining.
| Predicate family | Operations question | Example positive and discriminating negative |
|---|---|---|
| generation | Did the named practitioners originate a distinguishable operating variation during the stated interval? | A source-traceable variation and its generating Work are recoverable; the negative is a relabelled carrier with no changed practice claim. |
| receiving enactment or another transmission relation | After the source practitioner or coach is absent, does the receiver independently perform eligible Work using the admitted Method or honestly bounded observed practice? | An eligible case is handled under the exact rule and stop; the negative is a completed handover followed by an unsupported start. |
| recognition | Does the named population identify the practice or result as the one meant by the local term in applicable cases? | Practitioners distinguish the practice from its serious rival; the negative is agreement on the label with incompatible case judgments. |
| selection | Does a named selecting participant or population choose the value under an explicit applicability rule? | Actual eligible decisions designate and use the selected value; the negative is a mandatory field with no corresponding Work. |
| memory | Can the population or its identified memory arrangement recover the value and its applicability at the named interval? | Practitioners recover the current rule and stop from identified carriers; the negative is an archive entry that directs a stale or unsupported action. |
| retention | Does the same predicate remain supported after the qualification interval and relevant support change? | Independent positive cases recur after the stated interval; the negative is use only while the author or coach is present. |
| loss | Has a previously supported relation ceased for the named participants and interval? | Eligible cases now fail the earlier predicate under otherwise applicable conditions; the negative is only a missing carrier record with no observation of practice. |
Use the lightest truthful claim. Apply A.6.RCD only when a reusable or local compound predicate is needed; open A.6.REL occurrence identity only when a later use must distinguish relation occurrences. Other cultural claims remain explicit gaps unless independently tested.
