RHY.11:4.3 - Check simultaneous demands, not just separate schedules
Map the required actions onto the body parts, performers or mechanisms that produce them. Compare overlapping preparation, recovery, attention and cue use. RHY.9 repairs the allocation or access when a contribution has nowhere to occur.
Distinguish rhythmic layers from the methods that make them possible. Keeping balance, maintaining contact, articulating a phrase and performing the larger figure can occur together through constituent and encompassing methods. They are not automatically four separate rhythm lines. Conversely, two instrument parts can be parallel rhythmic layers without either method being part of the other.
If an individual can recall the figure and produce its components but loses a needed coordination in combination, locate that joint demand before adding repetition. RHY.12 addresses the missing capability at the relevant level.
