RHY.12:1 - Problem frame

Use this when a learner can count, describe or perform parts of a passage but loses a needed rhythmic relation when performing the passage: the beat changes with the phrase rate, a sustained contribution disappears under an accent, or a partner’s cue is noticed only after the response should begin.

Choose a short part of the intended performance and practise the relation that currently fails. The first result is a usable exercise followed by a representative attempt, a bounded account of what changed, or an identified prerequisite that requires other instruction.

This Method supplies rhythmic practice for human performers, including people working with instruments, partners or robots. HCD.6, HCD.9 and HCD.10 supply general task design, feedback and practice scheduling. The development of a robot’s controller or learned policy requires its engineering or training Method. An already workable passage can be performed directly without turning it into an exercise.
