RHY.12:3 - Forces
| Force | Practical tension |
| Isolation and coordination | A simpler exercise exposes one error but can remove the relation that makes the real passage difficult. |
| Stable reference and variation | Changing tempo, phrase or grouping can develop a needed capability while also introducing a new physical demand. |
| Assistance and later use | Counting, a score or a partner may supply a useful contribution; the intended performance may require keeping it or doing without it. |
| Local progress and wider claims | A better next attempt justifies a next practice decision but does not establish retention or transfer. |
