RHY.3:5.1 - Two brush arrangements
Ed Soph describes both a division between a sustaining hand and an articulating hand, and an arrangement in which both hands sustain while pressure produces accents. For a passage needing sustained texture with clear accents, these offer different ways to allocate the contributions.
Try the chosen arrangement in the passage. Listen for the sustained texture as well as the accent, and include the continuation into the next movement. The pattern selects the relation to preserve; the brush technique supplies the physical means. Neither arrangement is made mandatory for every style or performer.
