RHY.7:4.4 - Separate a structural result from a response or performance claim

Use actual observations when the question is how this performer or listener responds. Retain the task, preparation, tempo, cues and performing arrangement that make the comparison relevant. RHY.14 obtains and interprets such performance and response results; use a sufficient available result directly.

A structural contrast can suggest a trial without predicting its outcome. Do not rename a calculated entropy, a syncopation score or a classifier output as observed interest, transferable capability or aesthetic quality.

If the decision needs only an established difference in positions, no listener experiment is required. If a consequential uncertainty remains, choose an attainable comparison that could resolve it; its cost and displaced practice time are part of the choice under C.11.DUA.
