RHY.8:1 - Problem frame
Use this when a rhythmic passage needs a new variant that retains a useful relation: an ending must arrive at the agreed point, an accent should move while the cycle remains usable, or a continuous movement must admit another articulation without losing its continuation.
The practitioner needs the existing passage or a seed, the intended difference and the performing conditions. The first result is a variant with its consequential timing, duration, articulation and realization requirements, ready for an appropriate trial; where the available basis already supports performance, retain that qualified result.
Use a familiar adequate variant directly. If the difficulty is reproducing an unchanged passage, locate the missing coordination or technique through RHY.1 and RHY.12 before adding variation.
