| Continuity and novelty | A recognizable contribution must remain while something consequential changes. |
| Local transformation and whole passage | Enlarging or displacing one phrase changes its fit with preceding, simultaneous and following contributions. |
| Arithmetic and realization | A duration calculation can close correctly while the required actions remain unavailable. |
| Diversity and selection effort | A few variants exposing useful alternatives are more helpful than an unexamined mass of perturbations. |
