RMP.8:4.3 - Reconcile the affected account
Follow the changed premise through the claims or outputs that actually rely on it. Identify which conclusions survive, which must change and which now need another supplied relation.
For a model, distinguish a represented target, structure, parameter, assumption, calculation and interpretation when the change bears on them differently. Correctly computed output can lose its warrant for a use when a transfer assumption fails. A locally supported parameter may remain useful within its calibration conditions.
Make consequential changes in the account itself, rather than leaving an unqualified conclusion beside a detached caveat. Preserve the earlier statement when an existing citation, correction or reliance requires recovery. For a draft that nobody has relied on, an ordinary edit with enough source connection can suffice.
A replacement explanation is a new assertion with its own support. If criticism only defeats the former explanation, retain the remaining alternatives without selecting one by elimination that the evidence does not warrant. Return a new research question or design choice through RMP.1 or RMP.2 as needed.
Use the existing records and source links that make this reasoning inspectable. RMP adds no compulsory change ledger for every account.
