Research Method Practice Principles Framework Architectural Reference
Edition: First edition, version 4 October 2026. The source-use account states the qualification dates and limits of the methodological contributions.
Research Method Practice can begin before a study or with supplied material and a claim. A current source answer may already be enough. Otherwise the practitioner may need a research-allocation answer, a question-preserving operational choice, an inspectable trace, an analysis of what the material supports, a useful credibility examination, a corpus answer, a precise knowledge revision or a decision about retaining or improving a research Method.
RMP.1 and RMP.2 form the pre-study contribution: qualify the question or return its source/owner answer, then use sufficient evidence, select a worthwhile design, return a true hold or complete a no-new-study answer. RMP.3 makes a selected design executable without replacing its question. RMP.4 preserves or recovers actual material for a declared examination. RMP.5 analyzes and criticizes the claim under its Method; RMP.6 decides which further credibility contribution, if any, should be obtained. RMP.7 appraises and synthesizes a corpus under its research question; RMP.8 revises the exact claim or model contribution and returns it to its actual use. RMP.9 distinguishes a Method difficulty from a limited correction, selects useful further comparison when warranted and returns its actual consequences. RMP.10 reconstructs a candidate Method account from practice evidence when ordinary recovery is insufficient; RMP.11 explains Method history through diagnostic sources and competing accounts. The eleven Methods keep intention, conduct, claim support, acquisition, Method qualification and receiving authority distinct.
RMP.Reference:1 - The practical question behind research and engineering
A reliability engineer may need to change a pump’s maintenance interval, while a resident group may need to explain a stream anomaly. Both can reach the same difficulty: the answer needed for the next decision is uncertain, and the team does not yet know whether to retrieve an existing answer, apply a qualified Method, or design an inquiry. RMP.1/RMP.2 help the practitioner produce that first discriminating result. A bounded question or an exact return is useful before anyone commits to a study.
The distinction between research and engineering concerns the contribution being made. Engineering work can change a system so that it produces an intended result. Research work can change the account of what obtains, why it happens, or under which conditions a claim is defensible. One practitioner or team can make both contributions, and a research inquiry can require engineering an instrument or experimental arrangement. In the seal case, the engineered test arrangement and the resulting mechanism-to-evidence claim answer different questions. The maintenance decision then uses the claim together with the receiver’s other criteria. Calling all three contributions “research” would hide which result is still missing.
Science also names a social institution: organizations, occupations, careers, funding, journals and recognition. Those arrangements can enable inquiry and impose obligations. Their presence does not establish which Method can answer the question or whether the resulting claim survives criticism. A university team can perform routine qualification; a citizen group can develop a criticism-bearing question. RMP.1 therefore asks what knowledge remains unresolved, how the whole inquiry can change its support and what criticism it requires. It does not settle the philosophy of every practice called science or replace the professional Methods and criteria of every research field.
The practical gain is a better next move: use the supplied answer, obtain an ordinary professional result, qualify a question, choose a defensible design, specify its operations, recover actual material, state the bounded claim, select relevant credibility work, synthesize compatible contributions, revise and return a knowledge account, or retain or improve a research Method. Each contribution can instead identify the particular missing result or changed premise. A request to “prove that the change works” may become a question about whether the relevant mechanism transfers—or return to routine engineering if that relation is already qualified. A later operational choice must preserve that question; a retained trace cannot compensate for losing its decisive comparison.
RMP.Reference:2 - Forces that shape the first result
| Working tension | How it changes use of this repertoire |
|---|---|
| The receiver needs an answer soon, but a weak source frame can create false closure. | Start with a question-relative source result and an explicit useful stop. Seek a stronger comparison when an omitted rival or limit could change the answer and the attainable contribution warrants its whole burden. |
| A familiar instrument or Method makes work easier to organize, but it can hide the error that matters. | Establish the criticism demand before selecting a design; compare the different evidence relations of serious alternatives. |
| A team needs direction before every detail is settled, but a missing value may invalidate the proposed study. | Select a design only when remaining values preserve its family, criticism and feasibility. If a still-needed selection is prevented, name the missing owner result; a current allocation may instead finish with a qualified no-new-study answer. |
| Combining methods can answer a richer question, but it consumes shared resources and creates an additional integration claim. | Check the complete combination’s feasibility and disagreement logic, including demands that no pair of components reveals. |
| Research should be usable across institutional settings, but access, competence, safety, rights, and responsibility still differ. | Apply the same membership conditions while obtaining the actual permissions, specialist results, and constraints for the setting. |
| The desired action gives the inquiry a use, but can also capture its conclusion. | Preserve a result that can defeat or narrow the favored claim and a receiver who retains the later decision. |
| A protocol needs specific choices, but some inquiry develops through engagement with its material. | State justified advance commitments, permit method-appropriate evolution, and preserve the reasons and timing of consequential changes. |
| Later criticism needs records, but exhaustive capture can hide decisive choices or expose protected information. | Preserve the material needed for the named examination, establish actual permitted access, and state which uses loss or redaction prevents. |
RMP.Reference:3 - Research membership is not institutional status
Research can be performed in a company, public body, university, archive, community, independent practice or citizen group. Affiliation, grant, venue, publication intent, title or tool use is neither necessary nor sufficient. The boundary depends on a knowledge question unresolved in the qualified frame, a non-routine epistemic task of the whole inquiry under genuine uncertainty, a criticism-ready trace and a bounded communicable contribution. A constituent action or the execution of an already justified protocol may be routine within that inquiry.
The same activity can sit on either side. A seal test can be routine qualification or a challenge to the relation that makes acceleration relevant. A fully specified replication can examine a disputed claim without inventing a new protocol. In RMP.1’s paired assay case, the same procedure instead supports ordinary quality control when the task is to return a lot verdict under an accepted rule. Stream sampling can be monitoring or an inquiry into rival causes; source reading can answer the question or contribute to a source-critical design.
RMP.Reference:4 - Question, frame, design, Work, result, and decision remain distinct
A receiving question names why knowledge may matter. A ResearchQuestionBrief states the intended episteme change, current frame, bounded question, criticism demand and constraints. It distinguishes what the evidence must establish for an adequate answer from when the present work may finish with uncertainty, refusal or a missing-input return. A research design is a prospective strategy connecting that question to observations or sources and method-appropriate criticism. A protocol or operationalization map elaborates a design. Performed Work, records, analysis output, criticism, a warranted episteme change, publication, recognition, and actual downstream use are further distinct.
RMP.1/RMP.2 supply the brief and current design disposition; RMP.3 supplies operational specification or an exact return; RMP.4 supplies the trace and its receiving limits; RMP.5 supplies the bounded claim and actual criticism; RMP.6 supplies the credibility choice and interprets an actual test return when one exists. RMP.7 supplies EvidenceSynthesis; RMP.8 supplies EpistemeChangeAndEvidenceReturn; RMP.9 supplies ResearchMethodPracticeRevision, including supported retention or a bounded correction. These names require the relevant content, not a new file for each result. A protocol remains an intention, and a trace represents only conduct supported by its records. Later conduct needs actual performance and its evidence. Domain claims need their qualified support, and the receiving practice retains study permission and its engineering, management, policy, regulatory or personal decision.
A Method pattern is a knowledge account of a Method and its use: the recurring problem and its frame, forces, solution, grounds, cases, limits, consequences and relations belong to its content, including FPF’s SoTA comparison. The section template, natural language, notation, file organization and publication location concern how that content is presented. A pattern language additionally organizes substantive relations among its contributions; a DPF is not merely a document format. One article can develop several related contributions, and one contribution can be explained in an article and in a pattern account without erasing the distinctions between their uses. RMP.8:4.4.1 explains how to preserve the content and means needed to repeat or adapt it.
RMP.Reference:5 - Criticism comes before method prestige
A design must first explain how its material can answer the question. Reuse a justified strategy when available. Otherwise RMP.2 applies C.39: derive the distinction the answer needs, recover an actual methodological operation, follow it on available material and construct the missing connection. A failed comparison can change the observation, arrangement or question, or return a precise missing result. The resulting strategy is then compared with the actual alternatives and no new study.
Experimental, field/observational, qualitative/reflexive, historical/source-critical, computational/model, synthesis, and mixed designs expose unlike errors. No family is a universal successor or top rung. RMP.2 asks which relation can expose the live rival, dependence, invalid source use, bias, context loss, or unsupported transfer and what would defeat or narrow the claim.
Real answer-changing alternatives make method capture visible; a numerical quota can invent false alternatives. A missing input holds a particular selection still needed when plausible values change its family, criticism or feasibility. A completed allocation can instead retain that unknown as a limitation of QualifiedNoNewStudy. Obtaining it is a separate commitment. A genuinely post-selection need preserves the selected relation across its full admitted range and the jointly admissible combinations.
RMP.Reference:6 - Pattern relations do not prescribe a research lifecycle
RMP.1 → RMP.2 is a result dependency only when a passing ResearchQuestionBrief and compatible current frame exist. RMP.2 can be entered directly with those supplied inputs. Either pattern can stop. A changed receiving question or frame returns to RMP.1; a changed selection premise reopens RMP.2.
RMP.3 can consume a compatible supplied brief and selected design. RMP.4 can preserve records before operationalization is complete or start directly from inherited work. RMP.5 can examine supplied material and analysis; RMP.6 can enter with a bounded claim and threat before or after new study work. Actual material or criticism can reopen a question, design or operation. The Table of Contents exposes RMP.1–RMP.11 in six reading Parts; neither Part order nor numbering is a research calendar. RMP.7 can enter from a supplied synthesis question, design and trace; RMP.8 can enter from an actual analysis, criticism or synthesis result. RMP.9 can enter from actual performance, criticism or a changed receiving use. Its result reopens only the dependent research contribution; a completed inquiry need not start Method improvement.
RMP.Reference:7 - Use the two contributions together
RMP.1/RMP.2 supply two related Methods for a bounded pre-study use. RMP.1 qualifies why an inquiry is needed and what answer would be enough. RMP.2 decides whether current evidence already suffices, which design can answer the qualified question, or which missing result prevents that choice. Their combination is useful when a request arrives before either question has been settled. A current allocation can also finish with insufficient evidence and no new study when no worthwhile obtainable acquisition is selected. Direct use of either contribution remains possible under its stated inputs.
For an ambiguous request, begin with the RMP.1 qualification procedure. Its source, ordinary-practice, and missing-input returns can close the current request without design work. Only a passing ResearchQuestionBrief carries the intended episteme change, criticism demand, and useful stop into RMP.2. A colleague’s compatible brief can supply the same input; repeating RMP.1 merely to record passage adds no result.
With that input, use the RMP.2 design comparison. Keep the receiving question fixed while alternatives change the evidence relation. The useful contrast might be between a mechanism experiment and field transfer evidence, between historical source criticism and corpus synthesis, or between new evidence and a sufficient current answer. The selected design must explain what error it can expose and which threats it leaves live. The four disposition branches then give the reader a usable conclusion.
The source-answer and design-allocation questions remain distinct. RMP.1 can finish with an available answer before unused membership prompts. RMP.2 compares qualified evidence with the brief’s answer condition without repeating adequate source work. Permission to finish with uncertainty does not satisfy that evidence condition. EvidenceSufficientStop means the answer is adequate for that use; QualifiedNoNewStudy means no new study is selected while the remaining evidence limit stays visible.
If design comparison changes the question, receiving use, or useful stop, return that change to RMP.1. If it changes only an instrument, access, or other selection premise, reopen the affected RMP.2 comparison. A usable question can survive an infeasible preferred design. A supplied-answer stop or hold can likewise be the complete result of the present use. The Part that groups these bodies helps reading; it adds no third Method and requires no chronological research lifecycle.
RMP.Reference:8 - Connect operationalization and actual trace
With a selected design, begin RMP.3 from one consequential observation or source choice. Explain how it bears on the bounded question, then specify the necessary units, selection, comparison, timing, Method and planned use of the material. A qualified domain protocol can supply much of this. The research contribution is the connection and the change condition, not another mandatory form.
The resulting ResearchProtocolAndOperationalizationMap makes clear what is executable and what remains blocked. A missing result may hold one operation while all admitted values preserve the selected design. A changed measure, source or comparison that can defeat the selected criticism returns to RMP.2. A changed question or useful stop returns to RMP.1. Apply those returns to the complete operational arrangement, including joint access, resource and retention conditions.
Use RMP.4 to capture the material whose loss would matter and to recover what actual work can support. Preserve plans separately from actual conduct, later reports and reconstruction. Connect observations, sources and computations to their uses through consequential selection and transformation. State what was known when a change was made, including substantial human and AI contributions.
A trace can be prepared before a final claim exists for the criticism or analysis already intended. It can also start from inherited work. A reconstructed plan remains a reconstruction, and a new run remains new work. For a named examination, determine what the intended critic can actually inspect; controlled originals, public summaries and irrecoverable losses support different uses.
One notebook may carry both the operational choices and the trace. Keeping their meanings distinct allows a reader to compare intention with conduct without multiplying documents. The next result may be an analysis-ready source set for its particular Method, or an honest account that the original comparison cannot be performed. RMP.5 supplies the research analysis and claim criticism, and RMP.6 the credibility choice, with their disciplinary inputs. RMP.7 supplies corpus synthesis when a qualified synthesis question, design and adequate actual material exist.
RMP.Reference:9 - Connect analysis and the credibility choice
Use RMP.5 to follow a consequential connection from the actual material through its Method to the proposed claim. An adequate existing analysis can supply the result. Preserve the distinction between planned and later choices, contrary material, uncertainty and the stronger claim the result cannot support. A bounded interpretation or unresolved answer may finish the present use.
Use RMP.6 when a remaining credibility question can change the useful next move. Start directly with the supplied claim, basis, use and threat. Reproduction, replication, robustness, use-specific validation, corroboration and transfer examine different relations. Compare what the attainable result could change with access, preparation, performance, interpretation, protection, shared resources and displaced work.
The selected test, its operational specification and an actual returned result remain separate. Inability to attempt an examination is not a discrepant result; an inconclusive result is not evidence of absence. A current no-new-test answer retains its uncertainty, and a newly obtainable discriminating comparison can reopen the choice. The protected-function merits of a disputed requirement and the authority to amend its current force also remain distinct.
RMP.Reference:10 - Connect corpus synthesis and exact revision
Use RMP.7 when the question concerns what a corpus jointly establishes. First inspect whether a supplied synthesis already answers it. Otherwise recover the reports, underlying studies or sources, their dependence, exclusions and missing contributions. The question and applicable Method determine whether to pool estimates, compare results without an aggregate, develop an interpretation, reconcile historical accounts or relate mixed findings.
A synthesis preserves useful differences. Two reports from one study may add information without adding independent support. A shared theme can remain situated rather than becoming a population percentage. A refusal to estimate a common magnitude can finish when it says what the corpus does and does not establish.
Use RMP.8 when that result or an individual analysis changes a wider claim, model or actual receiving use. Identify the same subject and conditions on both sides, retain the supported part and reconcile the affected dependent claims. A date for a decision does not by itself explain the later implementation. An unsupported field-transfer premise can invalidate a model’s field prediction while leaving its laboratory relation usable.
Return the current answer with the basis, uncertainty and limitation that changes reliance. Known consequential uses need the permitted correction through their responsible owner. A short linked explanation may suffice; neither an unused change form nor a general consumer register is required. A worthwhile new research possibility remains a separate question of attainable contribution and whole burden.
For a contribution that includes a reusable Method, use RMP.8’s publication branch to distinguish the supported knowledge from its article, pattern or framework presentation. Reconstructing a derivation, rerunning a calculation, obtaining new measurements and transferring the Method require different means and agreement criteria. The calibration case shows what remains unchanged across publications and what a shortened account must not lose.
RMP.Reference:11 - Connect Method improvement and research consequences
Use RMP.9 when a research Method or its practice becomes the actual question. First distinguish the Method from its description, implementation, local execution, capability and affected claim. An adequate current Method can be retained, and a determinate correction can finish after its relevant verification.
When a material choice remains open, compare attainable alternatives for the same research purpose and the criticism it must withstand. Obtain further evidence only when its possible results can change that choice and its complete burden is warranted. Otherwise retain the supported position and restrict any unsupported use. A decision to decline a comparison does not qualify the Method.
A corrected analysis can return through RMP.5/RMP.8 while a wider Method question remains open. A Method change can instead reopen an operational choice, credibility claim or synthesis contribution. Keep the actual dependency and unaffected results visible. New research still needs the RMP.1 membership conditions; Method improvement does not prescribe a ninth stage after every study.
Core supplies Method identity, trial, fit, worth and variant distinctions; A.3.1.MI supplies introduction. RMP.9’s source account connects these to research practice. C.11.MV permits an adequate present choice or a retained set with its limitation; further inquiry depends on its useful obtainable contribution and whole burden. RMP.9 applies those distinctions to the research question and its affected result. A sufficient research account can carry the decision without a separate C.11.MV record.
RMP.Reference:12 - Conditions for a usable combined result
Use one receiving question, intended episteme change, and useful stop across the combination. The source frame, rival accounts, applicability envelope, and supplied owner results must be compatible with that same use. Two locally plausible results cannot be combined when, for example, the brief concerns field seal degradation but the design comparison quietly assumes a different material or temperature mechanism. Requalify the changed question or obtain the missing relation before treating the design as its answer.
Feasibility concerns the whole selected strategy. For a mixed design, RMP.2’s family comparison requires a reason for each component and a warranted relation among its results. Check shared participant burden, access windows, specialist capacity, resources, and incompatibilities over the same intended period. Define what a component’s failure or disagreement would do to the claim. An extra component earns its place by the uncertainty it can change; agreement produced by shared data or assumptions is not independent corroboration merely because two Methods were named.
Consider a constructed mixed inquiry into the stream anomaly. The same qualified investigator pool has twelve available investigator-days in the relevant window. Field comparison requires six, archival/source comparison five, and a computational sensitivity component four; assume these demands cannot overlap or share effort. Every pair fits, but all three need fifteen days. If all three are necessary for the proposed criticism, the whole option is infeasible with the supplied twelve-day capacity. Compare a feasible worthwhile arrangement or finish the current allocation with no new study and the evidence limitation retained. Additional capacity is an option to appraise, not an automatic acquisition. Removing one component changes the design whenever it removes a necessary challenge. Lack of capacity does not establish that the current evidence is sufficient.
If a capacity result remains necessary to select a useful strategy and its plausible values would change that choice, RMP.2 returns ResearchDesignHold. When the current allocation instead finishes with no new study, retain the unresolved capacity as a limitation rather than an awaited acquisition. When several owner results remain unresolved, apply RMP.2’s joint-input test in RMP.2:4.3 before treating the remaining needs as PostSelectionNeed. The RMP.2 result rule supplies the required record and the action when a value arrives outside the admitted range.
These conditions first qualify the selected design and then constrain its operationalization. RMP.3 applies the same joint-input condition to the proposed conduct; RMP.4 preserves the actual choices and changes. Neither a completed protocol nor an extensive trace rescues a lost comparison or unsupported measurement relation. Preserve the completed question/design and unaffected material, identify the failed dependency, and return it to its owner. Competent execution and actual analysis require their own Methods and results. RMP.5 and RMP.6 can use the supported material to return a bounded claim and credibility decision; RMP.7/RMP.8 supply synthesis and broader revision when needed; RMP.9 addresses a distinct Method difficulty and returns only its actual consequences.
Constituent actions in ongoing work. During a study, classifying one observation can constitute part of constructing the analytical comparison, within an ongoing inquiry into a stated explanation. If the inquiry changes from describing recorded cases to explaining their occurrence, a classification that ignores how cases were selected may no longer support it. Recording skill and statistical calculation can both be available while the intermediate operationalization is inadequate. RMP.3 addresses that operationalization; the design and analysis Methods retain their own questions. Recover the vertical with B.1.5.EW and account for the access, specialist capability and shared observation burden needed by the combined work. Earlier collection is not assumed to continue during every later calculation.
RMP.Reference:13 - Architectural Rationale
The question/design Part follows two decisions that practitioners can complete separately: whether a new inquiry is needed, and which strategy could answer its qualified question. Combining the Methods preserves continuity between them without forcing every request through a study. Separating their results also makes revision precise: a new source can close the question; an invalid sensor can reopen design while the question remains useful.
| Serious alternative | Why someone would choose it | Trade-off and when it is preferable |
|---|---|---|
| Use FPF source/evidence practice and direct methodological sources without an RMP account. | It avoids another language and gives an experienced practitioner the original source detail. | Prefer it when an existing source result or qualified domain Method already supplies the required answer. When the boundary and design are both unresolved, the practitioner must reconstruct their connection, stop logic, and owner returns; RMP.1/RMP.2 make that recurring work explicit. |
| Organize the entry by institution, occupation, or familiar activity. | It is quick for administration and fits established service boundaries. | Keep it for staffing, grant, or institutional classification questions. It cannot distinguish routine laboratory qualification from a mechanism inquiry, or admit the equivalent citizen question, so it does not govern RMP membership. |
| Use one standard design hierarchy or fixed research sequence. | A mature domain can make recurring choices efficiently when the question, criteria, and evidence relation are already qualified. | Use that domain rule for its justified scope. Across the questions served here it can suppress source criticism, situated interpretation, transfer limits, and legitimate stops. RMP.2 compares the actual criticism and losses before adopting the domain’s preferred route. |
| Use one combined question-and-design template. | It reduces handoffs and can work for a short, stable inquiry with all inputs supplied. | It can conceal a changed question inside a familiar protocol. RMP.1/RMP.2 keep the two results distinguishable even when one person creates them in one sitting; direct entry avoids making two documents compulsory. |
| Stop the published repertoire after question qualification alone. | RMP.1 already avoids unnecessary studies and returns adjacent work correctly. | It leaves a passing brief without the justified design-or-stop result needed by the seal and stream users. The second Method closes that pre-study question, including an explicit hold when selection cannot be completed. |
| Stop the repertoire at question and design. | It gives a complete pre-study disposition without a larger research account. | Use RMP.1/RMP.2 directly when that is the result needed. A selected design does not itself connect the detailed operational choices or preserve actual conduct; RMP.3/RMP.4 address those additional difficulties. |
| Combine protocol and trace into one undifferentiated result. | A small inquiry may use one notebook, reducing paperwork. | Keep that single carrier when useful, but distinguish intended choices from actual and reconstructed conduct. The distinction permits direct legacy entry and criticism of changes. |
| Use a comprehensive disciplinary handbook. | It can supply detailed professional techniques, instruments and qualified procedures for a known field. | Use that source for its actual contribution. RMP’s Methods connect the research question, evidence and Method decision; they do not replace every discipline’s professional practice. |
The source architecture follows the same choice. Generic source recovery, evidence use, and reusable Method qualification retain their existing owners; RMP connects their supplied results to the research question, design, operational choices, actual trace, bounded claim and credibility question. This costs an explicit external-result dependency, but preserves source maturity, domain competence, and the ability to stop when a supplied premise is absent. A retelling can reduce navigation, but it also creates a second account whose source qualifications need maintenance. RMP instead explains the receiving research use and returns to the supplying Method for its content.
RMP.Reference:14 - What the repertoire foregrounds and leaves outside
The repertoire foregrounds the question/current-frame boundary, useful completion, exact owner returns, real design alternatives, honest allocation with insufficient evidence, question-preserving operations and trace, method-appropriate claim criticism, relevant credibility work, corpus synthesis, exact revision/return and research-Method improvement or retention.
Generic source, evidence, inference, representation, comparison, uncertainty, value, decision, Method, monitoring, assurance, acceptance, and current-state mechanics retain their Core, domain, or institutional owners. The full eleven-pattern repertoire still depends on the particular field’s professional criteria, competence and obtainable results.
RMP.Reference:15 - Intended use and ordinary non-use
Use this repertoire to qualify a research question, answer a current design-allocation question, make the selected inquiry operational, recover actual material, examine its claim, select relevant credibility work, synthesize its corpus, return the exact knowledge revision, or retain or improve a research Method. Enter from the actual missing contribution with compatible supplied inputs.
Do not use it as a generic literature-search guide, research-administration manual, ethics or safety process, ready-to-run domain protocol, statistics handbook, domain measurement guide, publication checklist, evidence hierarchy, funding rule, or authority for the receiving decision. It does not establish that Work occurred or a claim became true.
RMP.Reference:16 - Judge the connected result
The practical entries are recognition aids. Correct use requires the reasons and conditions in the complete bodies. Inherit the RMP.1 checklist for a passing brief, the RMP.2 checklist for a design disposition, the RMP.3 checklist for operationalization, the RMP.4 checklist for the trace, the RMP.5 checklist for analysis and claim criticism, the RMP.6 checklist for the credibility decision, the RMP.7 checklist for synthesis and the RMP.8 checklist for revision/return and the RMP.9 checklist for Method retention or change. For the contributions actually combined, also examine their connection:
| Substantive question | A usable answer and its return when absent |
|---|---|
| Does the design answer the same bounded question for the same receiver and useful stop? | Show the brief positions used by the comparison. Requalify a changed question; obtain an unresolved material, population, context, or source relation instead of assuming compatibility. |
| Does the completion concern sufficient evidence or the present allocation with insufficient evidence? | Preserve the adequate answer for EvidenceSufficientStop, or the bounded answer and no-new-study reason for QualifiedNoNewStudy. A missing result holds only the selection it prevents; resource and authority decisions retain their owners. |
| Can the chosen strategy expose the criticism demand, including the dependence and disagreement of any components? | Name the defeating or narrowing result and the shared assumptions. Apply the whole-combination conditions when several Methods contribute. |
| For a design selection still needed, could remaining values alone or jointly change the family, criticism, feasibility or refusal? | Return ResearchDesignHold when those values prevent that selection. Only an actually selected design can retain invariant PostSelectionNeed. A completed QualifiedNoNewStudy answer keeps its evidence limit without turning it into an acquisition. |
| Do the operational choices still support the selected question and criticism? | Follow one consequential observation or source choice through the whole arrangement. Name a blocked action or return a defeated premise under RMP.3; do not hide a changed design in protocol detail. |
| Does the receiving examination have the actual material and access it needs? | Use RMP.4 to distinguish plans, conduct, reconstruction, transformations and loss. State the particular examinations still supported and those prevented. |
| Does the analysis warrant the proposed claim under its Method? | RMP.5 follows the material-to-claim connection and retains consequential choices, contrary material, uncertainty and unsupported stronger uses. |
| Does the credibility examination address the actual threat, and is it obtainable and worthwhile? | RMP.6 compares the meaningful result with the whole arrangement, preserves a useful no-new-test answer, and distinguishes selection from actual performance. |
| Does the corpus answer preserve the question, source dependence and warranted transformation? | RMP.7 distinguishes independent support, compatible synthesis, context and missing material. A refusal states the narrower supported result. |
| Does the revision concern the same assertion and reach the actual use that needs it? | RMP.8 reconciles affected claims, preserves uncertainty and returns the permitted correction through its responsible owner. |
| Does the Method decision address the actual subject and change only its dependent use? | RMP.9 separates supported retention, bounded correction, worthwhile evidence acquisition and restricted use; RMP.5/RMP.8 or another actual consumer receives only the consequential return. |
| What has actually been returned, and what can the receiver do with it now? | Identify the supplied answer, brief, design disposition, operational specification, limited trace, bounded claim/criticism, credibility decision and actual test result when one exists, corpus synthesis, exact knowledge revision and return, or supported Method retention or change. The receiving action still needs its own criteria and authority. |
These questions test the present result; counting completed rows does not establish that evidence exists or that Work occurred. A direct use of RMP.2 with a compatible supplied brief needs no second RMP.1 record. When one premise changes, revisit the result and combinations that rely on it while retaining unaffected work.
RMP.Reference:17 - Bias and the reach of these examples
The seal and stream cases foreground engineering evidence and observable anomalies; the historical and interpretive contrast prevents controlled experiment from becoming the implicit model of every inquiry. The Method-correction case additionally exposes the difference between implementation repair, Method qualification and a changed receiving claim. Together these cases make important branch and loss decisions recognizable, but they are constructed cases, not field validation of the repertoire. RMP.2 compares unlike design families, RMP.3 preserves their operational differences, RMP.4 relates actual material to the intended examination, and RMP.5/RMP.6 connect method-appropriate criticism and testing to the bounded claim. These contributions do not provide each family’s complete professional practice or establish equal coverage of every research tradition.
The requirement for a named receiving use can make a sponsor’s decision too prominent. The receiver may instead need a bounded explanation or corpus contribution; immediate commercial, policy, or operational action is not required. Keep rival accounts capable of changing the favored answer, and distinguish a sponsor’s preference from the criticism demand. The RMP.1 bias account and RMP.2 bias account address status, activity, favourite-Method, tool and authority drift. RMP.3 adds operational selection and researcher-position questions; RMP.4 adds retrospective reconstruction, unrecorded exclusions and access consequences. RMP.5 and RMP.6 address interpretive overreach, technique prestige, repetition and acquisition bias. RMP.7 adds corpus selection and source-dependence limits; RMP.8 adds wider model reliance and receiving-use limits. RMP.9 adds novelty, easy-metric, compulsory-acquisition and unsupported-retention risks.
Applying the same membership conditions does not give every group the same resources or access. Community access, specialist competence, funds, archive rights, or a safe sampling window can determine what can actually be done. Preserve those conditions as concrete results and constraints. Bounded communicability requires a critic to recover the reasoning; it does not demand public release of protected records or convert an institutional template into the only acceptable trace.
RMP.Reference:18 - Failures at the connection between the patterns
| Consequential misreading | Practical correction |
|---|---|
| A passing ResearchQuestionBrief is treated as approval to begin the favored test. | Use RMP.2 to justify the design and obtain the actual owner results. The brief establishes the epistemic question, not permission or a selected strategy. |
| The brief, design, protocol or trace looks complete, but its question, source frame, material or receiving use differs from the contribution it relies on. | Compare the shared premises at the connection and return the changed question or missing compatibility result. Individually detailed accounts do not repair the mismatch. |
| Every component of a mixed design is feasible, so the combination is declared feasible. | Check shared capacity, burdens, access windows, and the integration claim for the whole set, as in the twelve-day example. |
| A missed comparison is carefully recorded but the original claim remains unchanged. | Preserve the loss and return the defeated design premise. The trace can support a narrower examination without restoring absent evidence. |
| A final reconstructed protocol is called a prospective commitment. | Preserve the actual evidential basis and timing. A useful reconstruction cannot establish an earlier decision that its sources do not support. |
| A public summary is treated as equivalent to the protected original for every criticism. | State which examination each available view supports; obtain permitted access or narrow the receiving use. |
| A repeated computation is treated as evidence that the model is adequate for any field use. | Preserve the computational result and examine the claimed model-to-field relation under RMP.5/RMP.6. |
| A selected credibility test is treated as an actual result. | Preserve the decision, actual performance and returned evidence as different facts. |
| A corpus count is treated as independent corroboration or unlike results as one magnitude. | RMP.7 recovers contributions and the justified transformation before synthesis. |
| A correction changes the event or leaves a dependent model claim unqualified. | RMP.8 matches the assertion and reconciles its actual dependent uses. |
| A selected Method trial is treated as a qualified improvement, or its cost makes unsupported use appear adequate. | RMP.9 keeps acquisition worth, performed evidence and Method adequacy separate. Restrict the unsupported use and preserve the affected claim’s limit. |
RMP.Reference:19 - Practical consequences and revision
The arrangement can save a study, give a team a defensible research direction, identify one missing external result, or return a claim whose support and limits are clear. It also makes routine qualification and monitoring easier to recognize and continue under their own Methods. The work required depends on the live question: reuse adequate source, design and analytical results; obtain only the additional contribution that warrants its arrangement. Operational choices and timely records can preserve an otherwise lost comparison. Analysis can narrow an unsupported explanation, and a relevant credibility examination can change its support. Corpus synthesis can distinguish genuine joint support from repeated or incompatible material; exact revision makes that result usable without hiding its limits. Method improvement can retain adequate practice or correct its implementation; a changed Method or situation can justify a further comparison and a precise return to its actual research consumer. These contributions earn their cost through the distinction they preserve or the uncertainty they can change.
Reconsider a particular use when the question, receiver, source frame, live rivals, mechanism, measure, access, resource envelope, or authority changes. Reconsider the repertoire’s shared architecture when repeated cases cannot distinguish ordinary practice from research with its four conditions, when an unlike design is systematically misrouted, or when the Methods cannot produce their promised bounded results without silently borrowing an absent or unqualified external result. Preserve the failed case and the missing contribution so that revision addresses the difficulty. The source-currentness account states the source changes that reopen the relied-on methodological claims.
A new version can improve any contribution or its connections. Wider disciplinary coverage requires the corresponding Methods and evidence. The present examples show how to obtain bounded results; they do not establish that the framework improves outcomes in every setting or that a selected study will yield the desired answer.
RMP.Reference:20 - PatternID and reader order
RMP.* is the Research Method Practice namespace. Pattern numbers are stable addresses. The public Table of Contents includes only authoritative bodies available in this carrier.
| Available PatternID | Recurring practitioner difficulty | First useful result |
|---|---|---|
RMP.1 | Decide whether an ambiguous request is a genuine unresolved research question or an exact source/non-research return. | ResearchQuestionBrief or exact supplied-result, owner-result, or source-gap return |
RMP.2 | Decide whether evidence is sufficient, a useful feasible design is selected, a particular selection is held, or the current allocation closes with no new study. | One ResearchDesignDisposition |
RMP.3 | Make the selected design executable while preserving its question and criticism. | ResearchProtocolAndOperationalizationMap for the supported scope, or an exact operation/owner, design or question return |
RMP.4 | Preserve or recover actual research material for a named examination. | ResearchTracePackage with inspectable connections and explicit access, reconstruction and loss limits |
RMP.5 | Establish what the material supports under its Method and what criticism changes the claim. | Bounded ClaimCandidate with its CriticismRecord |
RMP.6 | Choose the useful examination of a claim-relative threat and interpret its actual return when supplied. | CredibilityTestDecision, distinct from a performed test and its result |
RMP.7 | Establish what a contested corpus warrants under its synthesis question. | EvidenceSynthesis, adequate existing answer, useful refusal or exact input return |
RMP.8 | Revise the identified knowledge contribution and return it with consequential reliance limits. | EpistemeChangeAndEvidenceReturn, proportionate to the actual account and receiving use |
RMP.9 | Retain or improve a research Method and its practice for a named use. | ResearchMethodPracticeRevision with supported retention, correction, change or restricted use; a selected comparison remains distinct from obtained qualification |
RMP.10 | Reconstruct a candidate reusable way from a justified specialist evidence programme. | Scoped candidate accounts, claim-to-evidence connections, variants and uncertainty, or an honest lower result |
RMP.11 | Explain Method differentiation using dated and diagnostic evidence. | Differentiation account with rivals and evidential limits; a separate C.28 result only when causal reliance is needed |
Part I groups RMP.1/RMP.2 for question and design; Part II groups RMP.3/RMP.4 for operationalization and research trace; Part III groups RMP.5/RMP.6 for claim analysis and credibility work; Part IV groups RMP.7/RMP.8 for corpus synthesis and exact revision/return; Part V supplies RMP.9 for Method improvement and retention. Part VI supplies RMP.10 for evidence-based reconstruction of practice and RMP.11 for explanation of Method history; either can enter with compatible supplied research inputs. An ambiguous request can begin with RMP.1; compatible supplied inputs permit direct entry to RMP.2 or RMP.3. RMP.4 also admits existing work and can begin capture before a final protocol or claim exists. Supplied material and analysis permit direct RMP.5 entry; a bounded claim, basis, use and threat permit direct RMP.6 entry. RMP.7 accepts a compatible synthesis question, design and trace; RMP.8 accepts actual analysis, criticism or synthesis for the identified account and receiving use. RMP.9 accepts an actual Method difficulty or changed research use and tries the supported present answer before further comparison. Neither reader order nor an arrow asserts performed Work, a universal sequence or compulsory continuation.
RMP.Reference:21 - Available repertoire and scope
| Contribution | PatternIDs | Available result and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Question, current frame, and design/stop | RMP.1–RMP.2 | An exact source/owner answer or research question, then EvidenceSufficientStop, ResearchDesignDecision with genuine PostSelectionNeed, ResearchDesignHold or QualifiedNoNewStudy for the current selection. |
| Operationalization and trace | RMP.3–RMP.4 | Question-preserving operationalization or an exact obstacle/return, and a trace for its named examination with explicit limitations. These results come from their respective Methods, not from design selection alone. |
| Analysis, criticism, and credibility | RMP.5–RMP.6 | A bounded claim with method-appropriate criticism, and a relevant credibility decision with interpretation of an actual test result when supplied. Either can finish the present question. |
| Synthesis, episteme revision, and evidence return | RMP.7–RMP.8 | A warranted corpus answer, including an adequate existing synthesis or useful refusal, and an exact knowledge revision with its bounded receiving return. |
| Research Method and practice improvement | RMP.9 | Supported retention, correction or change for the named research use, or a restricted/stopped unsupported use. Relevant Core and field contributions retain their own scope. |
| Practice reconstruction | RMP.10 | A larger evidence programme for an unresolved candidate-Method question, with ordinary recovery and a sufficient bounded stop retained. |
| Method history | RMP.11 | Diagnostic historical comparison that preserves source dependence, surviving rivals and separate causal-use conditions. |
The repertoire contains all eleven RMP patterns. A complete repertoire provides their Methods, not the case-specific evidence, competence or authority needed to use them. A missing external contribution remains a precise limitation on the dependent result.
RMP.Reference:22 - Direct result relations and non-lifecycle topology
- RMP.1:4.3 applies F.1, F.0.1 and A.10 to the receiving question and available source texts. The result is an answer with its source basis and limitations. A suitable supplied answer permits direct use.
- RMP.1:4.3.2 compares alternatives when their differences could change the answer. F.1 guides source selection; a claim about the best-known current answer also uses E.8’s SoTA distinctions. The comparison can narrow the question, supply a sufficient answer or identify what remains to be investigated.
- RMP.1 supplies RMP.2 only on its passing branch. Supplied-answer, non-research, and source-gap branches exit.
- RMP.2 can finish with EvidenceSufficientStop or QualifiedNoNewStudy, or identify the selection held by a missing result. Only ResearchDesignDecision or a compatible supplied selected design supports RMP.3.
- RMP.3 connects the selected question/design to operational choices and record needs. A blocked operation, defeated design or changed question returns to its exact owner.
- RMP.4 admits ongoing or inherited work directly. Its trace connects actual records and changes to the named examination, without requiring a final claim or a new prospective protocol.
- Operational choices can guide capture; actual loss or changed conduct can reopen the dependent design or question. Neither connection requires a fixed sequence.
- RMP.5 examines the claim through supplied actual material and its Method. It can return the bounded answer directly or a precise defeated premise.
- RMP.6 enters with a bounded claim, basis, use and threat. It can use an existing result, select useful attainable testing, finish with a qualified answer without it, or return the input that prevents selection.
- RMP.7 uses a compatible supplied question/design and trace to appraise and synthesize the corpus. Its dependence, compatibility and source limits remain part of the answer.
- RMP.8 accepts actual analysis, criticism or synthesis to revise the same identified contribution and return it to its actual use. Earlier direct answers remain sufficient when no broader reconciliation is needed.
- RMP.9 enters with a Method difficulty or changed research use. Its supported retention or change returns only to the affected question, operationalization, material, analysis, credibility, synthesis or knowledge account. An unselected comparison creates no trial result.
- RMP.10 uses ordinary A.3.1.MR recovery and the evidence programme the remaining question warrants. It returns scoped candidate accounts without Method admission; a complete current account needs no larger programme.
- RMP.11 uses records and their dependencies to compare actual historical accounts. RMP.8 receives a revised knowledge claim where needed; current architecture and causal-use decisions retain their distinct grounds.
- A changed question, current frame, receiver, or useful stop reopens RMP.1. A changed selection premise reopens RMP.2.
The corporate, citizen, and historical applications take different routes. No route establishes one universal scientific method or mandatory lifecycle.
RMP.Reference:23 - What the sources contribute to the shared architecture
The question/design foundation connects two source questions. Frascati supplies a cross-sector comparison for research membership; UNESCO’s participation account prevents an affiliation gate. RMP.1 applies its adapted conditions to the whole inquiry’s knowledge contribution. The National Academies’ new-data replication distinction prevents a ready protocol from excluding a useful examination of disputed knowledge. Ordinary quality control still returns its case verdict under an accepted rule. Historical and citizen inquiries need not promise universal generalization or a repeatable event. The Frascati comparison states the adaptations and their limits; none supplies truth or study authority.
For the design question, MRC/NIHR connects programme theory, context and key uncertainties with choosing and refining an inquiry. Cochrane’s conceptual models connect intended effects to assumptions and useful comparisons within intervention reviews. RMP.2 adapts these constructive contributions and applies C.39’s general recovery and backward/forward construction to a research evidence relation. SRQR and AHA preserve situated and historical criticism; the National Academies keeps reproduction and replication distinct. The RMP.2 account states the comparison and limits. None of these sources supplies the case’s domain truth or selects the receiving action.
This is a methodological synthesis for the pre-study use. It is not evidence that one source supplied the question/design architecture or empirically validated its results. In particular, the PostSelectionNeed counterfactual is the repertoire’s explicit rule for completing selection: it makes the consequence of an unknown value inspectable. The worked holds and selections explain that rule; the cited reporting standards do not certify it.
For operationalization and trace, the selected best-known line is question-relative specification with an inspectable account of actual change and use. Flake/Fried and Lakens make consequential measurement and information choices explicit; SPIRIT supplies bounded specification distinctions and TOP separates timed commitments. Haven and the RTARG critique preserve an approach’s justified evolution while challenging generic checklist use. RMP.3 adapts those contributions to operational choices and precise returns, not to one mandatory protocol.
RMP.4 adapts source-critical, search and run-provenance distinctions to actual material. CARE/FAIR and responsible-AI guidance make data authority, permitted access and substantial human or tool contributions consequential to that account. The applicable owners’ rules determine what can be retained and disclosed; the trace states which examination remains possible. The alternative of preserving and publishing everything can add burden and harm while still omitting a decisive choice. The alternative of keeping only a final methods narrative loses timing and selection. The chosen arrangement accepts selective recording work to preserve those particular distinctions; a competent existing protocol and trace remain the cheaper sufficient route.
For analysis and credibility, SCORE’s distinct examinations make analytical choices, obtainable computation and the comparison criterion consequential. RTARG and AHA preserve unlike interpretive and source-critical warrant. RMP.5/RMP.6 use those contributions to connect a bounded claim, its remaining threat and the test’s possible result; existing adequate analysis and a qualified no-new-test answer can complete the present use.
For corpus synthesis, Cochrane makes dependence, a justified quantitative model, explicit alternatives and missing contributions consequential. Its qualitative guidance and JBI preserve a choice between same-question integration and separately synthesized aspects; CERQual supplies a bounded finding-level confidence approach. AHA source criticism keeps historical dependence and chronology distinct from narrative count. RMP.7 adapts those contributions to the actual research question. RMP.8 combines bounded interpretation with FPF episteme and affected-use relations so that the result changes the exact account and reaches its actual receiver.
For Method improvement, the established statistical simulation-design line and newer transparency and failure-handling work make the selected comparison’s target, performance and limits inspectable. RTARG and AHA preserve interpretation and source-use criteria that a generic benchmark would miss. RMP.9 connects those contributions to a research-specific Method decision, with supported retention, bounded correction and a justified acquisition choice kept distinct. Its Core Method-development account retains C.11.MV’s distinction between an adequate current choice and further inquiry selected for its useful obtainable contribution.
The resulting cross-family arrangement is a reasoned synthesis, not an empirically validated universal procedure. A stronger comparison, a changed research use or an observed failure can reopen the affected Method; adding sources without changing an answer is not an improvement by itself.
The retained source dates and scopes matter. Frascati 2015 is a statistical-methodology comparator; the National Academies report supplies particular distinctions; reporting guidance supplies transparency obligations within its field. None is presented as a timeless complete research method. The source-currentness statement above remains the qualification for the claims inherited by this version. A stronger current answer or an observed misrouting reopens the affected claim and its consuming comparison, as described there.
The source-use and currentness notes retain the bibliographic grounds, qualifications and source changes relevant to these architectural contributions.
RMP.Reference:24 - Using FPF for the source answer
RMP.1:4.3 shows how to begin with a question and the available material. F.1 helps select sources by their contribution to the answer, F.0.1 recovers a consequential expression’s meaning in its source, and A.10 supplies claim-bound evidence and provenance relations. For a claim about the best-known current answer, E.8:11 supplies the distinctions used to compare the relevant SoTA contributions. The account states what the sources answer and what their conditions or omissions leave unresolved.
A relevant existing answer can be reused after checking that its question, sources and applicability fit. F.0.2 is a conditional contribution for conceptual synthesis in framework authoring. G.2 serves a broader refreshable SoTA pack under its declared frame. RMP.7 supplies research-corpus appraisal and synthesis when that is the task.
FPF C.16 supplies the measurement discipline used when RMP.3 specifies an observation and RMP.4 distinguishes indications, measurement results and derived values. Domain methods supply the instrument and validity knowledge for that measurement.
RMP.Reference:25 - External result and authority boundaries
Domain practices own phenomena, mechanisms, instruments, measurements, admissible observations, validity criteria, safety, and truth conditions. Core supplies Method identity, repertoire, requirements, performance/provision architecture, qualification, trial, fit, worth and variant Methods; A.3.1.MI supplies introduction and revision in practice. Operations, audit, evaluation, assurance, acceptance, governance, and institutional administration retain their own results.
Ethics, rights, confidentiality, privacy, security, community control, access, resources, providers, and receiving authorities supply their exact permissions or decisions. RMP may identify that one of those results changes the question or design; it does not issue the result.
Research returns a bounded episteme contribution and relevance to a receiver. It does not choose a maintenance interval, remediation, policy, release, treatment, compliance verdict, employment action, or personal decision.
RMP.Reference:26 - Public returns to adjoining practice
Use the companion publications when the first result belongs to an adjoining practice. The requested result remains theirs; finding the publication does not establish that the result has been supplied for the current case.

| Needed contribution | Where to continue and what to bring back |
|---|---|
| Develop a missing research strategy. | Start with RMP.2:4.4 and its worked seal construction. In the downloaded FPF specification, find ## C.39 - Find and Develop a Way to Obtain a Result for the general recovery, construction and adaptation Method. Bring back an explained research evidence relation or the precise missing operation, with its conditions and useful stop. |
| Recover an answer from existing sources. | Start with RMP.1:4.3 in this publication. In the downloaded FPF specification, find ## F.1 - Find and Select Sources for a Current Question, ## F.0.1 - Source-Local Meaning Recovery, and ## A.10 - Evidence Graph Referring: Claim-Bound Evidence and Provenance Graph for their contributing methods. Bring back the answer, sources, applicability and remaining uncertainty relevant to the research question. |
| Specify or examine the measurement account used by the inquiry. | In the downloaded FPF specification, find ## C.16 - Measurement & Metrics Characterization (MM‑CHR). Bring back the measurand, applicable method and model, qualification, value and uncertainty needed for the research use, together with the competent domain or laboratory result. |
| Identify or improve a reusable research Method, or test its situational fit. | Start with FPF C.39.MF for the Method being changed; use FPF A.3.1.WT for a trial in representative work and FPF A.3.1.FT for fit or transfer. Bring the research-specific failure, question and criticism requirement. RMP.9 locates the research-practice decision and determines whether a trial is needed. |
| Engineer the system or arrangement needed to obtain a result. | Use Systems Engineering (SYSE.1) for the system being changed and SYSE.24 when obtaining arrangements compete. Bring the needed engineering contribution and applicable research constraints; a delivered apparatus is distinct from the research claim it may help test. |
| Continue routine operating observation or response. | Use Operations Management (OPS) with the supplied variables, response conditions, and operating authority. Return an unexplained mechanism, validity, or transfer question to RMP.1 only if the research conditions become relevant. |
Domain-specific instruments, observation admissibility, source authenticity, ethics, rights, safety, and receiving decisions still require their actual competent owners. These public returns locate reusable contributions; they do not replace those case-specific results.
RMP.Reference:27 - Representative case coverage
| Case family | Available RMP coverage | Preserved outside result |
|---|---|---|
| corporate accelerated seal evidence | Routine qualification versus mechanism-validity question; current-evidence stop; design alternatives and joint-input test; mechanism-relative operational choices, repeated-observation units, marker failure return and damaged-specimen trace; analysis qualified by the field relation and a credibility choice that separates computational reproduction from validation for maintenance use. | Failure truth, instrument validity, safety/access, assurance, and maintenance decision. |
| citizen urban-stream salinity | Monitoring versus unresolved anomaly; holder-neutral membership; current-evidence stop; design alternatives and holds; site-period operationalization, missed-event return, a trace separating downstream inspection from an unavailable paired comparison, a bounded descriptive claim, and the limit of a later season as a test of the missed event. | Environmental truth, sampling competence, safe/legal access, laboratory result, and regulatory response. |
| historical factory-closure account | Authenticated-source stop versus source-critical question; historical/synthesis alternatives; provenance/access hold; question-relative source selection, inspected-source trace, contrary material and archival-loss consequences; an explanation narrowed or defeated by an authenticated counter-source and corroboration chosen for the surviving claim. | Archive rights, provenance facts, harm constraints, and public/institutional action. |
| computational/model question | Distinct design and credibility questions; operational input/model/environment choices, run-specific provenance, substantial human/AI contribution and the limits of unavailable service replay; model-relative interpretation, defensible analytic sensitivity and explicit distinctions among reproduction, replication and use validation. | Domain model truth, validation target, compute/data/code access, and receiving engineering decision. |
| contested evidence corpus | Question-led eligibility and trace; recovery of reports, studies and dependence; compatible quantitative combination, structured refusal, situated and mixed synthesis; exact revision and return with retained uncertainty. | Domain appraisal and synthesis criteria, access/rights and the receiver’s authority. |
| research Method and implementation | Suitable Method retained after a determinate calculation correction; affected analysis and claim returned; a materially changed receiving situation can justify a comparison whose actual qualification remains unresolved. Reflexive, historical and mixed cases preserve their own criteria. | Field criteria, actual comparison evidence, competence, source access, Method qualification and receiving authority. |
