| Term | Meaning here |
| useful difference | A difference in available experience, evidence or reasoning that can contribute to the selected learning action. |
| common preparation | What participants need to understand and use each other’s contribution; it need not include the same professional expertise. |
| working group | The people who must interact for this task; they may belong to a larger cohort or a continuing circle of support. |
| established contact | A mutually usable channel and agreed occasion, distinguished from an invitation and from a completed exchange. |
| membership change | Adding, removing or replacing participants; it differs from changing roles, visibility or the task within the same group. |
