HCD.27:4.4 - Restore a missed contribution and resume from supported work
When an occasion is missed, first identify what is missing. A person may need the information, the chance to explain, a response to their work or an assessment. Reading a summary can restore information; it cannot necessarily restore dialogue or a first independent judgement. Use the smallest feasible replacement that supplies the actual contribution.
Retain valid completed work and locate the next unfinished action. Re-establish any changed criterion, source, permission or help condition before resuming. HCD.21 supplies rematching when another participant is needed. A later small exchange can restore explanation; a prepared contrasting case with a qualified feedback window can restore some individual learning uses. State the changed assistance and observation limits.
Provide a clear return condition and a real window. If no suitable opportunity exists, return the remaining gap and a different feasible arrangement rather than an indefinite promise. Repeated recovery demand can show that the common rhythm itself is unsuitable. Return that design question to HCD.20/.28 and HCD.7, preserving the parts that still work.
